SPOT tracking for 2009 contests? by
Frank[_1_]
Our club (CCSC) is starting to think about providing real-time SPOT-
based glider track displays for ground crew/spectators for our 2009
Region 6 contest, and I was wondering if other clubs were considering
similar programs.
Sure would be a cool thing if the SSA and/or SRA were to provide a...

Krosno landing gear oleo by
[email protected]
Does anyone have the info on how much shock strut fluid is required
for proper servicing of the Krosno oleo. There is nothing I can find
to indicate this. The pressure is marked on the strut but nothing to
indicate the volume of fluid.
Thanks

Can we get PAID to soar? Carbon Offsets by
Dave Newill
Posted in humor -but with some actual possibly that it might work! Now
the EU is going to start charging corporate aircraft for their Carbon
Footprint. So if I "sell" my flight time in a sailplane to some
corporate aircraft operator - could that not "offset" some of his
fleets carbon footprint?...

Spratt Update by
Karl Striedieck
Charlie is still in the hospital waiting for the transplanted kidney to
"kick in." His first transplant, in 1995, required a two-week tour in the
hospital, so the doctors are not alarmed.
He sends greetings to the multitude of supporters who are cheering him on.

Any information on the TST-10M? by
Tom767
Gentlemen,
I have recently been considering buying the TST-10M motorglider produced by a
Czech company. I have had trouble finding information this glider. The
unpopularity of it and the outstanding performance of the glider indicated by
the charts are making me a bit hesitant in my purchase.
If...

Glider Graphic by
Uncle Fuzzy
I'm sure I've seen something about this before, but my searching
hasn't turned anything up.
I'm looking for that 36" wide white graphic of a nose-on glider. The
only place I've found it so far is a place that (mostly) sells winches
and stuff for R/C gliders: http://www.theshope.net/store.aspx
I'd...

Soaring Servers by

The principal server (http://soaringweb.org) is down, and may remain
that way for a bit, but the two mirrors (http://soaring.gahsys.com)
and (http://soaring.xinqu.net) are up and running just fine. It's a
good idea to bookmark all three!
Continuing thanks to Guenther Eichhorn, Glen Holden, and...

If this has been posted elsewhere, I don't care.
Conclusions are unremarkable, but it is interesting to see some actual

glider ride business - practical? bad idea? by
tienshanman
What do you guys think: is it feasible for one guy with a 2 seat motorglider to offer glider rides as a part time business; just to earn a bit of spare cash? Do you know anyone doing this who is not part of a larger commercial soaring operation or schoool? Would appreciate your thoughts.
