Having followed the discussions here on the SPOT messenger

course. While far from perfect, it seems like a very good aid should
search and rescue be needed. A few observations:
I had thought I might use it in OK mode to report my...

Mayday In Utah by
Steve Wilson[_2_]
For what it’s worth, there were very good reasons as I saw it to call
“mayday” while over the desert in Utah. But I also committed a
fundamental error of not having clearly located a suitable landing site
within gliding distance. I was soaring some low hills with good lift
about 30-40 miles west...

with it, plus after their first try they stopped servicing LNAV's. I
then purchased a used LNAV from someone who contacted me from my post
and for a while that...

IS-28B2 Twin Lark status by
Greg Arnold[_2_]
We are trying to determine the status of this glider at our field.
It appears that this aircraft (which was built in 1997) had an
airworthiness limitation of 20 years, which took it to 1997. However,
there was a 15 year extension that took it to 2012.
Assuming I have my facts right, the...

Wing Leading Edge Refinishing by
Jan Eldem[_2_]
HI all,
My Pegasus was refinished in Poland a few years ago in two pack poly
paint, seemed to do a good job I thought. but after a while the very tip
of the leading edge has started to get vertical cracks showing where the
wing flexes (peg's have very bendy wings)
The rest of the wing is fine,...

For the latest parallel flight of my deturbulated Standard Cirrus vs. a
modern glider, go to

20 minutes of parallel flying should be enough to make the point.

Winter Vario # 5493 by
[email protected]
Anyone know what size flask is requied with this unit. I have one and
can not find specs on Winter's web site. Also, is the flask size
critical to the accuracy of the unit? Instrument is 57mm and +/- 10
knots. S Nr. 05493. Instrument was purchased by me second hand.
