LX4000 GPS Connections by
Brian[_1_]
I have friend that just purchased a PIK20 that has an LX4000
computer.
We are unable to get the LX4000 to pick up a GPS signal. The
documentation with it is confusing. Some of the documentation says it
has an internal GPS receiver and indicating all is required is to
connect a GPS antenna to the...

Amish Soaring by

You folks may remember a few season back when I visited an Amish
family in SE Iowa with the Cherokee. Some jokes were made, but it
appears that our jokes are reality:

Getting a handle on the tail dolly by
Tuno
The tail dolly for my new WalletWhomper II came without a handle on
top. I want to add one. I am betting that drilling holes and using
flathead machine screws from inside will still endanger the fuse
boom.
Any hot tips? (Besides "If you have to ask, don't do it.")

Glen Kelley
Folks, could anyone tell me what the part number/description is for the
fitting that screws into the bottom of the PIK-20 ballast dump tube for
filling. My PIK's ballast system appears to be in good repair but I can't
seem to find what fitting to use. I'm sure it is some kind of metric...

hard wax application by
Tuno
I've never used hard wax before, but since the factory recommends it
on the gelcoat, I'm going to give it a try. I just have no clue how to
go about it. (My Google search results are great -- for hair removal!)
I have a Makita 0-3000rpm variable speed polisher, a brick of hard
wax, and a mandrel...

Borgelt B50 Variometer Update by
No Name
Greetings,
I purchased a second hand Borgelt B50 a while ago, and after trying to
hook it up to my IPAQ, I found out that it wasn't working properly. I
wrote to Mike Borgelt about this and he confirmed the problem was that
some B50 models were equipped with firmware that only talked to a...

SeeYou and wind by
GARY BOGGS
I save my flights on a Colibri and download them into SeeYou and
sometimes it shows the wind and sometimes it doesn't. I flew the
ridge yesterday and made several circles in thermals and you can
easily see that there was wind in those circles. My Ilec said the
wind was 20kts. Can anybody tell me...
