Solar charger damages batteies - what's good one? by
Eric Greenwell
I've just discovered the Morningstar Sunsaver 6 charge controller I've
been using with my 20 watt panel is a two stage controller, and does not
have a "float" stage. This appears to have damaged my batteries more in
one year than several batteries I've used for 3 years or more, but were
charged...

Spindelberger wing cuffs for tiedown; severe winds by
Mitch Polinsky
I want to be able to leave my glider assembled and tied down all
summer, with Jaxida covers on it, but am concerned about how to secure
it against the occasional severe winds we get at Minden.
Spindelberger makes fiberglass wing cuffs that look similar to the
cuff used to attach a wheel under the...

Handicapping by
pascal
We have an internal competition designed to promote cross-country
flying and increase the level in the club. The scoring is kept as
simple as possible to make it understandable even by newly certified
pilots. We use glider coefficient. We allow two waypoints between
start and end. The handicapp...

what goes into getting a new Special Airworthiness Certificate,
Experimental Exhibition/Racing, for a glider?
I spoke with a DAR in Phoenix yesterday and explained to him that I

Sporting Code Question by
Gary Emerson
I've peered into the code, but I'm not 100% sure about this.
Say I declare a straight flight to a Goal. Start point and Goal are
declared. The definition of "Goal" is a "finish point specified in
Declaration". Does that mean any flight beyond that point is moot? Or,
is that the finish point...

Looking for two British pilots who towed across Atlantic 65 years ago by
Dave Newill
Any of our British friends know if either R G Seyes or F M Gobeil are
still around? 65 years ago in June, they piloted a Troop / Cargo
glider from Montreal Canada to Preswick Scotland as an experiment in
shipping these D-Day Silent Wings machines from the USA to UK.
Apparently the 6-7 hours ( per...

RS232 Bluetooth Adaptor by
NejibG
Hi all,
I have an application that changes it's baud rate while working from
4800 to 57600.
Would it possible to find an RS232 Bluetooth Adapter that would work
with such software?
All available RS232 Bluetooth Adapters seem to have to be pre-set to a
baud rate and don't allow for automatic baud...

PDA recommendation by

In the past years I have been flying with an old Ipaq 3130 (monochrom
display) with GPS_Log running on it. Now I am looking for an upgrade.
As far as I know Ipaq series 36xx - 39xx have the best displays for
use in a bright cockpit environment. Only catch is that these PDAs are
getting somewhat...
