DG-600 AOA static ports by
Marc Ramsey
My DG-600 has paired sets of static ports on the fuselage, just above
the wing roots. These feed the factory installed angle of attack meter.
My meter does not function, and I'd like to construct a replacement.
I assume the AOA meter was simply measuring the pressure differential
between...

competition finishes by
Derek Ruddock
All the recent heated debate on competition finishes,
and how to change the rules to prevent beat ups, has
focussed on a minimum height finish, which also has
its problems.
Why not approach the problem from a different direction,
and have a rule that states a maximum speed within
a radius of the...

Turf Soaring has finally learned that the State of Arizona will renew
its lease for the next ten years. As many of you know this has been
an issue since Roy put TURF on the market and was hindering most
attempts by prospective purchasers. The lease in now in place.
This site is vital to soaring...

Relesable instrument tubing by
[email protected]
Any hints how to fabricate releasable instrument tubing, to enable
removing the entire instrumnet panel from the glider for winter
storage.Winter sells "5 way quick tube connector", I would need
something similar solution, but maybe a better and reliable, because I
feel this is not 100% safe...

Old Soaring Magazines by
ginny
Hello,
I'm the daughter of a former sailplane pilot, Mac Snyder from Northern
California. Mac is about 85 and no longer active, however he would
like to give his collection of Soaring Magazine (from about 1957-85)
away where it might be enjoyed. I'll check back.

Cloud Flying - Experimental by
[email protected]
Does anyone know of any Experimental - Amateur Built gliders that have
operating limitations which allow cloud flying with a Turn and Bank?
Does anyone know what many type certified designs (Schweizer 1-34
comes to mind) had to prove to be allowed to cloud fly with a Turn and
Bank installed? I...
