Newbie commercial school question by
Saltfly
This summer I will fulfill a lifelong dream to learn to fly sailplanes.
I would like to concentrate the first phase of my schooling into a
concentrated 7 or 10 day period. I'd like to find a commercial flight
school in an area of stable and predictable weather. After browsing
this list, I also...

for the hangar queens by
[email protected]
Let's have a moment of silence for all the hangar queens, languishing
on the ground. Here are two 1-35s that are at least 25 years old, both
with less than 500 hours of airtime:

Simple Breakaway Connection by
ContestID67
I read the interesting thread about PDA connections (and others)
preventing canopies from ejecting properly. I had considered putting
the PDA on the rail of the canopy. I had to rethink that.
One possible simple "break away" connector that was recently
recommended to me is a USB connector. They...

Lassie:The Flying Machine by
[email protected]
As some of you* already know, I am building a webpage that lists
appearances of gliders in movies and TV shows. After some googling, I
have determined that "The Flying Machine", an episode from season 6 of
"Lassie", has some scenes with a glider, and should be included. I am
therefore trying to...

FS: Gap Tape - 10 Rolls for $20 Post Paid by
TJ
Hi,
1 inch gap tape.
Not a good as the best that is out there,
but, hey!, it is 10 rolls for US$20 post paid
in the United States (lower 48). After I pay
postage that works out to about US$1 a roll.
If you need some for Christmas, contact me.

open trailers by
[email protected]
Recently, I have been digging through ads offering used gliders, and I
have noticed that older metal sailplanes such as the Schweizer 1-3X
series often come with only an open trailer. Now that's fine for
transport, but what about storage? Can a metal glider be left
disassembled on an open trailer...

Winter Musings by
Ray Lovinggood
Winter, while not here in the Northern Hemisphere by
way of calendar, has arrived in the way of non-turbulent
airmasses on weekends.
So, what to do?
Read? Definitely!
Wax the glider when weather permits? You bet!
Find interesting articles on the web? Of course.
