Where is the Zanonia RS-1? by
Steve Leonard
If my memory is serving me correctly, it belongs to
Dale Busque in Andover, CT. N18134. I am not where
I can check this right now, but that is what showed
up on landings.com.
I seem to recall that it was still flyable.

While in the US on detachment with the RAF about 15
or more years ago,I remember seeing this interesting
glider while visiting Hemet,in a broken wooden trailer
and with a large nest of bees in one wing root.
I read up on it after returning to the UK and what
it lacks in performance,I thought was...

Wow, the OLC interface really improved today by
Greg Arnold
Duplicate flights are gone, and all the buttons at the top are working.
So. e.g., you now can see the club standings.
Now if they just would score the flights that still have zero points,
and would stop giving red marks to half of the posted flights . . .
A suggestion -- remove the...

Biggest Glider Ever Launched via Winch? by
[email protected]
In our winch clinic last week, the paraglider folks we shared the dry
lake with, seemed surprised we could get something as big as a Blanik
off the ground with a long steel cable.
Their tandem instructor asked our CFIG, "what was the largest gross
weight sailplane ever ground launched". Never...

Towing with a 150 hp Pawnee? by
[email protected]
I would like to hear from anyone who has experience or expertise on the
subject of towing with a Piper Pawnee with a 150 hp engine. 150 hp
seems on the light side to me. It would be used in Central Texas (high
density altitude in the summer).

[email protected]
For cosmetic reasons, we need to have the rudder and elevator of our
sailplane re-covered while the plane is taken apart during its next
major inspection. Where can this be done in Southern California ?
Thanks in advance for any tips.
Cheers, Charles

OLC Update by
Ray Lovinggood
OLC now has a direct way of displaying the flight on
Google Earth. Nice! I pulled up Dick Johnson's flight
from Friday and then clicked on the Google Earth button
and I'm transported instantly to Texas.
What will they think of next?

A friend said that he received an e-mail from an Argentine pilot who
said that a Nimbus 4 went down in the Andes. Has anyone heard any
further news? I hope this is not the case. There has been far too
much of this lately.
