A record day for P-3Cs !! by

I logged more P-3s today than I have ever before. I began hearing them
before 8 am EST this morning, and I am still hearing them now.
At one point there were about four or five of them in the pattern at
Patrick AFB AT THE SAME TIME, while a Cherry Point MCAS C-130T and Charleston
C-17 was there...

A while back I found a website listing the tail codes for the
1940s/50s airfields (ie. VA = Glendale, Willow Grove, etc), but now I
can't find that site anymore. Just wondering if someone has a
comprehensive listing like that of airfield tail codes. I believe

Command Post is MAYAAP, and I understand that the callsign may have originated
at the old Banana River NAS.
Can anyone tell me how they got the callsign MAYAAP?
