put an officer on every team) and standing Boat O'. BRBR

Does China have a plan? by
T3
Given the USA's dependence on space based assets for communication, control
as well as surveillance and targeting not to mention what else we are not
aware of (black ops), it would seem that the Chinese have robust projects to
deny the USA space at a time of its choosing. Recent reports indicate...

MK 80 flare pictures wanted by
mah
Trying to get a display finished and need a little help.
I'm looking for good pictures of the MK 80 flares as a part of the
signal kit carried in the SV-2 vest.
Web searches have turned up some pictures but I need ones with a clear
view of the lettering on the cartridges.
Thanks in advance

F/A-18 for sale in KS by
mah
Six months to a year ago someone in Olathe Kansas listed an F/A-18 for
sale on ebay. In moving to a new computer I lost the link and email
address.
I'm hoping the seller reads this group or someone here remembers the
listing. I'm heading to KC soon and might try to sneak a peak at it.
Thanks in...

Maintenance Personel by
Charles Talleyrand
How is aircraft maintenance organized? Is you average mechanic assigned to a plane or to
a subsystem? In other words, is the mechanic assigned to Airplane #1234, or to "left
wing hydraulics"?
-Thanks

Flight Lessons by
Charles Talleyrand
I'm curious how Air Force/Navy pilots get their wings? Do they go to some place like Emory-Riddle and fly Cessna 172s. Do they get
instrument ratings in these 172s? What's the transition to 'real iron'?
Basically, what's a newly minted Air Force/Navy pilot's logbook look like and where did he...

"Sherman's Lagoon" by
Merlin Dorfman
The somewhat obscure comic strip, "Sherman's Lagoon," had a
fairly creditable PBY in its July 20 cartoon:
http://www.slagoon.com/dailies/SL03.07.27.gif. I'm not aware of
any PBYs that are used as water bombers (don't think they'd be very
good at it...) but this strip has had realistic WW II...
