Lowrance GPS by
Casey Wilson
Hello all,
I put away a few pennies here and there and now its time to invest in a
good GPS receiver. I've decided that the Lowrance will give me all I need.
And maybe more since I won't be doing any IFR. (Yes, I know it isn't IFR
rated anyway. The point is I won't need it for IFR backup,...

Cirrus for Cops raffle.... anyone know if this is legit? by
Len
Hey-
I found a web site where they are raffling off a Cirrus SR-20G2 in
August. Tickets cost $100, are most likely tax deductible. Proceeds
benefit Police Survivors.

Do you have what it takes? by
Flyingmonk
If you can go longer than 22 seconds you are phenomenal. I was told
that the US Air Force uses this for fighter pilots. They are expected
to go for at least 2 minutes.

DC ...
At 1000 rpm or so, my airplane will taxi and get up to, what,

My home airport had a crash this morning by
Flyin'[email protected]
I did my flight training out of this airport. As such, many landings and
lots of time at this facility. Not much details yet. The west end of the
runway is typically the departure end. Maybe landed long... Who knows.

Impressed with the Courtesy of ATC from NC to Miami and Back by
jls
It's been a while since I did much radio work with ATC and was dreading
it but found ATC very courteous, helpful, and professional.
Those people work in pressure cookers, and yet they manage to be so
nice.
One thing I noticed. The controllers have widely differing
personalilties and...

Odd TFR by
blanche cohen
There's a TFR today over DC for the State of the Union address.
I don't understand why when there's been a massive one in
place for the past 4 years.

Seaplane crash details by
Capt.Doug
I tried to post some bitmap images with this but it didn't come up on my
server. Anyways..
Concerning the Chalks seaplane crash in Miami, fatigue features were
observed in the lower spar cap of the rear spar of the inboard end of the
right wing, bisecting 2 offset drilled holes.

Late Astronauts Fly In Space Without Medical Certificate by
Larry Dighera
What is behind the bizarre practice of launching capsules containing
the burnt human remains of celebrities into space? Isn't this
ghoulish practice just a bit beneath the dignity of science?

FYI. There is a new TV show on cable TV that may be of interest: Sport
Pilot TV. It is broadcast on the Men's Channel that is carried by Dish
