Lakeway, TX by
birdman
Hello,
I have a complaint and feel that I was taken advantage of by the court
system in Lakeway TX. It concerns my landing a small plane at Lakeway
Airport in July, of 2004. I knew that the Airport is closed after
sunset and before sunrise but I was issued a ticket by a police officer
that...

actually looked happy as he said, "Ja, ve can do dot." Turns out to be

Fossett, Fossett, Fossett, .... is he really that great? by
Bob Engelhardt
I don't get it: Burt Rutan designed and built the GlobalFlyer and
Branson financed it - why is Fosset getting all the attention and why
was he the pilot? Is he really that great of a pilot? It seems that
his real fame is as "adventurer". Maybe what he brought to the project
was his name and...

FAA regulations - W&B by
Arne
In USA, if you are flying under Part 91 of the Federal Aviation Regulations
(FARs).
Are you required to perform weight and balance checks before every flight?
And if so, are you required to document it? Can the FAA show up on the ramp
asking you to show the weight and balance calculation?

Sounded like a crazy one at JFK last night... by
John Kirksey
I was working late last night and decided to tune into JFK Tower/Ground on
liveatc.net. I don't know what it looked like up that way last night, but it
must have been pretty crappy out. In addition to the wind shear - 35 gusting
47, +/20 on final - I tuned in right after an airliner turned off...

True Meaning Of VOR by
[email protected]
Hi,
I am an aspiring flight student. I'd like my first message to this
group to be one with foot in mouth:
I am not convinced that the term VOR stands for "Very high frequenncy
omnidirectional range."
The problem is that, if I were an electrical engineer designing such a
device, knowing in...

I would be interested in anyone's thoughts / opinions in this ng; long and

I'm 47, in the UK, and was made redundant from an ICT Manager's position 20
months ago. My dilemma is this. I'm thinking of starting up my own

I've taken the liberty of removing the cross-postings.
