"Wind gusts possible factor."
We had a couple of squall lines come through yesterday and some gusty
winds. No names, aircraft types (said small planes) , etc. Crashes
occurred at Sugar Land Municipal and Livingston airport....

Thanks be to God by
Big John
33 years ago at about 13:00 Greenland Standard Time , with good
training, excellent equipment and the Grace of God, I ejected over
Sonderstrom Greenland, in the middle of a snow storm and survived,
This day after Pearl Harbor Day, I celebrate, with my troops, this
episode in time.

Bible-beater pilots by
Jay Honeck
Yesterday was clear, in the 60s (in November in Iowa!), and -- best of
all -- our day off. With the kids in school, and the plane fully fueled, it
was off to...where?
Prairie du Chein, sitting at the confluence of the Mississippi and Wisconsin
Rivers, beckoned, with its beautiful approaches,...

Liberals Ignore The Wright Brothers by
Wdtabor
One of the greatest inventions of the 20th century -- indeed, one of the
landmark inventions in the history of the human race -- was the work of a
couple of young men who had never gone to college and were just a couple of
bicycle mechanics in Dayton, Ohio
This annoys me, the Wright's were not...

Hangar Space Available at 47N by
john price
I have an end unit hangar (extra corner space) in which I am
working on a Champ restoration project. There is enough space
in the front of the hangar for a small high wing plane like a
Champ or Cub or an Ultralight... It isn't the greatest hangar (it
leaks a bit), but you can have the front part...

It was 62 years ago today... by

The date that shall live in infamy...
A few toasts:

Contrails by
Steven P. McNicoll
"Jeffrey Voight" wrote in message

I'm curious about something I frequently see. When I look up and see
contrails from airplanes, I often see more than one headed in the same
direction, but separated by some distance. ...

will this fly? by
Lee Elson
Please excuse the cross post, but the topic might be of interest to
several groups.
I'm wondering whether providing light aircraft transportation services
(people and/or cargo) and consulting to small businesses is likely to
be a successful approach to setting up a very small aviation business.
In...

My ISP has been "blacklisted"! by
Jay Honeck
Many of my emails in response to those of you who have sent me pictures for
the new Rec.Aviation website have been "bouncing back".
When it became obvious that it was NOT "everyone else's" problem, I
contacted Mediacom to inquire about the service. Here is their reply --
anyone care to translate?...

Hooray for Pennsylvania! by

In a time when almost every state government seems to be jumping on the We'

Repo show sillyness by
Ron Natalie
Just watched a show called Repo Men with Vincent (Pussy) Pastore.
They show a repo of an airplane, labelling it as a 1998 172. It's pretty
clearly a '61 or so (swept tail but no rear window).

Flying into Las Vegas by
Casey Wilson
I've been asked to pick up my grandson's friend in Las Vegas at LAS on
Dec. 26. I'll be motoring down in a C-172SP, strictly VFR. I haven't landed
at LAS since long before they built a terminal -- back when the Hacienda
would send a limo over to pick me up for lunch and take me back to...
