J3 fuel valve by
Tri-Pacer
Does anyone know the size of the ports on the fuel valve used in the J-3?
I need to get a field approval to substitute a no longer available shut off
valve in another aircraft.
If the openings are 1/4 NPT I think I could use that valve.
Thanks
Paul

licensing for homebuilts by
Tater Schuld
I've been reading some of the FAA documents and am sort of confused about
something.
I don't see any requirements for a pilots license when applying for
registration and such for a homebuilt. is it implied that you already have a
license or is none required?
I see talk about reserving your N...

VOX - - Voice-Operated Xmitter (ie, transmitter) - - is often favored

The Maxon PTT/VOX model CA-1482A, which is known to work with most Icom

Lathe, drillpress, milling machine available, but..... by
Michael Horowitz
The local EAA chapter has a lathe, drillpress, milling machine, etc
set up in the back of the chapter house. As far as I can tell, the
lathe hasn't been used in a while. When I asked, someone rightly
replied they were concerned someone might hurt themselves using the
lathe. Having had some training...

Telex 4105 vs Stratus by
Robert Barker
Just got my tax refund and want to get a new headset. I like Telex and am
trying to decide between the Stratus and the 4105. Is the performance of
the Stratus worth the extra $300?
Thanks

Christen Eagle Inspection Help by
[email protected]
Hi all,
I'm travelling to the US from the UK in a couple of weeks time in an
attempt to buy an Eagle.
Although I can do a preliminary inspection, I would feel far happier
having either an Eagle experienced engineer or an existing Eagle owner
to help inspect the prospective aircraft.
If an...

Shields Up and Flame Wars by

Just coincidence, of course, but since the spar wars started
I have sure had some amazing luck!
I've won a dozen multi-megabuck lotteries, been named sole

GAS or MIG welding on 4130 tube? by
wright1902glider
Just wondering what the general consensus is on the best method of
welding 4130 tube structures. Advantages / disadvantages of each
considering I will be building in an attached garage, in a residential
subdivision, and will be limited to a 110AC/ 20 amp service?
Is an off-the-shelf MIG unit like...

A few thoughts on "Aircraft Engines" vs. the regular kind. by
Bret Ludwig
1. I love the people who say they can buy an Aircraft Engine for some
small amount of money and bolt it on and go flying. What they mean is
that after decades of search they managed to flam some widow out of an
engine for a tenth market price, they bought some oddball no one wants,
or they have an...
