Torque wrenches... by
.Blueskies.
Anyone know any good sources for these.
It seems like I will be needing a nice repeatable one in the 5-100 in/lb range for 10-32 screws and nuts. I am not sure
what the torque is that I will be using, the screws are AN509-R10 (MS24694 #10) and the nuts are MS21040-3. I have seen
from 20 in/lbs to...

Modifying certified to experimental in Aus.-auto engining and avionics by
Fooman
Evening all.
I started a similar thread a while ago, but have done some more reasearch
since. I will be sending this post to SAAA, to see what they think.
As I understand it, you may put an auto engine into a certified aircraft in
australia, and the legislation states that a request to do so must...

Mazda single rotor weight? by
[email protected]
Atkins lists the weight of their single rotor "industrial" version of
the Mazda 13B at 80 lbs and their marine version at 130. I've got most
of a 13B apart on the shop floor with the idea of building a truncated
version for aviation use but I'd like to know if the weights are
anywhere near real...

Covering an ultralight wing with Monokote by
Chris Wells
I was wondering about the feasability of covering a wing on an ultralight with Monokote, which is normally used on R/C aircraft. If the tensile strength is too low, could you use 2 or more layers?

Mexico hazard by
Rich S.
BWB better watch out. Here's a warning note from a friend who lives on the
Baja:
"We just had the forth Cessna 210 stolen down here at Punta Pescadero.
Somebody must get info from immigration.
Only the 210s are being stolen.
If I had that much money invested in an airplane, I would have a...

"scratchy" radio transmission update by
[email protected]
While it was a busy day on the airways (radio wise) I got the same
result calling up ATC 15 miles out; 'scratchy but readable'. Tried
reaching around back of the seat to key the rear PTT but it was too
painful wating for the frequency to open up. I did try calling another
aircraft at an airport 55...

Ping Steven P. McNicoll by
Lakeview Bill
I saw your statement: "I own a Champ' but like most Aeronca owners I've
become a bit of a buff on the whole line" on the "Can I fly it at night?"
thread.
Do you know of a source where I could obtain a list of all of the
side-by-side seating Aeronca models/years that were factory equipped...

Fiberglass adhesion to aluminum? by
[email protected]
I've got some slight cracking in my aluminum nosebowl and have stop
drilled them twice.
I'm considering backing the cracks with fiberglass in hopes to keep the
vibration down.
How well does fiberglass adhere to aluminum?
What system is better.
I have easy access to the West system chemicals.
Any...

Plexiglass??---When it's old & dried out---everything I've used to try
