Ack! My ACK! by
Fastglasair
"Well done, good and faithful servant" Mike, you handled this newsgroup
"situation" admirablely in my opinion (no doubt not worth much here). This web
board is in desperate need of a modicum of civility (a large dose is probably
to much to ask). It goes way beyond normal or reasonable bantering...

Is the R44 safer than the R22? by
Capt. Doug
Wooduuuward wrote in message I read that the R44 sales have 'taken off'.
From frequently browsing
the FAA crash reports, the R22 is listed almost every other week there.
The R44 is larger, faster and flys higher. Is it safer?
i.e.: in the last month: there are four incidents listed for...

Report from Arlington by
Rich S.
At Arlington today, the following rah ilk were spotted, foraging amongst the
dry grass and halter tops:
Ron "the Red" Waantaja was seated in a custom 3" high lawn chair emblazoned
with a Flybaby logo - under Moonraker's wing. He seemed kind of low.
John Ousterhout, having spent the night with...

Exhaust for VW motor by
Andre
I am wondering...
My Sonerai has 4 stub exhausts cut to a 45 degree angle facing forward for
some back presssure.
I want to add some silencers to my setup. (Maybe one on each side...)
Is it important that the distance from each cilinder exhaust port to the
silencer is exactly equal or can I have...

>>> The Best FREE Manual for Affiliates by
Master Affiliate
Ken Evoy must be bonkers - or the
smartest marketer around. He's just
spent three months writing a 224-page
manual for affiliates, telling you,
step-by-step, how to succeed with
revenue sharing programs . . .
And now he's giving it away. All you have to
do to get the complimentary manual...

Gasflow of VW engine by
Veeduber
Has anyone had any experience with the "gasflow" of VW engine to improve
horsepower at lower RPM?
-------------------------------------------------
If by 'gasflow' you mean volumetric efficiency, I've some experience in that
area.
I'll also assume your question hinges on the fact that maximum...

Is there a trick for installing a Tinnerman spring nut? by
Michael Horowitz
Folks -
I know that if I get someone to sit inside and hold the flat Tinnerman
fastener, I can screw in a machine screw from beneath the a/c. This is
not the type of fasterner that clips on to the edge of the metal.
For one person trying to either install or remove a screw from the
afore mentioned...

Port Orchard (4WA9) by
Rich S.
I found out yesterday that Port Orchard airport (4WA9) will temporarily
close tomorrow, July 14, for two weeks or so. The owners are ripping out the
existing blacktop and going to repave. The taxiway was taken out Friday.
It's the "or so" that bothers me. I can only hope the project is...

Chewed-up coupling connector - How-to? by

Folks - The oil pressure sensor/tube is secured to the engine block of
my A-65 by a brass connector which is getting pretty chewed up; Over

correct tool to tighten it down.

Pack guns in your little airplane by

The same could be done for part 91 flight. We could all write Phil

Arlington trip by
C J Campbell
Three of my students and I took the 206 to Arlington yesterday. We had to go
IFR since the ceiling at Tacoma Narrows was only 400 feet. However, we broke
out on top at 1400 and sailed under clear blue skies to Arlington, which was
clear below 11,000. I was concerned about getting in there IFR and...

Change in TAS with constant Power and increasing altitude. by
Big John
Chris
At you talking about throtttle setting?. To hold the same % POWER as
you climb, you have to advance the throttle until you get WOT from
which point the % power decreases as you continue the climb.

Stick and Rudder's 'Safety plane' by
Barnyard BOb --
Ernest Christley misfired the following:
I'm about halfway through this book. It is quite an eye opener. The
author's explanations seem so insightful, cogent and complete. However,
there's this one blemish. Printed in 1944, the author makes the claim
that the rudder will disappear in just a...

Looking for web addrress by
Errol Groff
Last year, after Oshkosh, someone posted a web site that had a very
nice collection of photos in a slide show sort of format.
They showed, in part, the planes around his in the show plane parking
area. One of the photos was a DC 3 I believe firing up its' engines
with a great cloud of smoke. I...
