Another day in paradise by
F.L. Whiteley
Lift was consistent for over five hours today, starting about 11:30am. It
reached as much as 10kts by 3pm. Bases about 13,500.
Not bad for late February in north central Colorado. Even the club
president came by and drove the winch for a while.

Parachutes again by
[email protected]
I received about a week ago 2 parachutes for repack. Nothing special
about it. But in this particular case they require special attention.
The first was made by Security Parachute Co. from San Leandro in
California. The second is a Original Softie fitted with 1965 Pioneer 4
line canopy. Now...the...

Frise ailerons on sailplanes by
Peter Purdie
I guess it's too long ago for people to remember the
Olympia 4 series, from the 401 prototype, flown by
Bill Ivans for the US team in '56 at St Yan, to the
465 flown in '65 by the Brit and NZ teams at South
Cerney.
They all had Frise ailerons. The 419 had far nicer
ailerons than the contemporary...

Alvord Desert Safari? by
Gary Boggs
We are opening up our annual Alvord Desert Safari to any one interested in
joining us. The Alvord Desert is located in South Eastern Oregon, USA.
It's a dry lake, about 8 miles wide and 15 miles long, and we ground launch
to get airborne. There will be several instructors there if you want to...

Frise ailerons on sailplanes by
Mark James Boyd
I was thinking recently about ground loops and flaperons and
adverse yaw and crosswinds. I can understand how
one needs a rudder for sideslips, but beyond that:
Is anyone making a modern competition glider without adverse yaw
using frise ailerons?
How about one that had no ailerons but just...

SeeYou 3.0 by
iPilot
FYI
Just spotted appearance of the new version in www.seeyou.ws
Regards,
Kaido
imho a bit of dissapointing update. Still missing the GPS_LOG task/waypoint
export feature which is the most wished for feature in wish list (at least I
didn't spot that-one appearing in help file).

Wave by
Janos Bauer
9 years after my 300km, yesterday I finally managed to climb a bit
more than 3000m during my first wave flight. Not a big achievement
compared to the "real" wave flights but for me 2005 seems to be a happy
year so far:)

Super Varios by
John Scott
I'm purchasing a glider and have started selecting the instruments. I'm
looking the Borgelt B50 and the Cambridge 302. I will be using an iPAQ
running flight software in conjunction with this instrument. If I select
the Borgelt, I'll also need a separate flight logger. I expect to fly...
