Tows in Southern Utah in March? by
ttaylor at cc.usu.edu
Is there anyplace to get a tow in Southern Utah in Mid March? I want to
get out of the cold and head south for a few days. I remember good
thermals in the area last year when I flew my Mooney down at that time
of year.

Dear Denise by
[email protected]
Dear Denise,
Any typos that are found in "Soaring" indicate that folks are actually
reading the magazine. I should try that with my future articles, to
see if anyone is reading my contributions!
You do a wonderful job as editor. "Soaring" magazine is better than
ever, and Steve Hines' photos...

Has a glider ever been found using the transponder radar track? by
Eric Greenwell
I'm wondering if a transponder-equipped glider would be an aid to search
and rescue people. I've heard that the radar tracks can be obtained from
ATC, but not if S&R people actually do that, and if it can be done in a
timely fashion (less than 24 hours, say).
What are people's experience with this...

I'm going to be in the LA and San Jose area, and I'd like to
see about doing some flying while I'm there. I've been checking
into the licensing requirements (seems it's easiest to do the
paperwork...

Just got word this evening...after a year of trying,

parachutes for szd pilots? by
LAS
Can anyone who's about 5'9", 175 to 200 lbs and with a 30" inseam offer me
any guidance as to what make and model of chute might suit me in the Jantar
series? Headroom and getting closer to the instrument panel are, of course,
big issues in this series.
