FPH by
Rich
Hi there - I'm doing some work on extracting atmospheric information
from the flight log of a well-instrumented glider, but there is one
measurement that is baffling me - what is FPH a measure of?
It is measured in degrees and ranges between 0 and 180 degrees over
the whole flight. I initially...

rec.aviation.soaring by
Vorsanger1
For the past couple of days, I have been unable to delete from r.a.s. those
threads which I have already read, in spite of hitting all buttons which had
enabled me to do so in the past. The result is that the site is getting more
and more loaded with stuff which I have already read.
Does anyone...

Instructor medical currency by

'An airplane instructor may exercise the privileges

must be qualified to ACT as pilot in command since
the instructor cannot be.'
I cut this from the ASA discussion group, I lurk there
and cannot find a link to register to post. This is

Empty/Gross weight Vs. Max. Pilot weight by
Flyhighdave
Hi All!
I'm confused by the weight restrictions on most gliders.
As an example the Lak-12 specs show the following:
Empty weight: 794lbs.
Gross weight: 1433lbs.
Payload: 693lbs.
Max. Water 416lbs.
Max. Pilot: 242lbs.(110KG)

Aviation Digest? by
Roger Worden
While searching for info about some soaring sites, I found many links to
soaring sites listed on www.avdigest.com. But that web site is devoted to
"audio-visual" equipment, not aviation. Probably the URL has been taken over
by a new firm, and the search engines have not cleaned out the old...

CG hook on aero tows?? by
Ted Wagner
A few seconds into take-off roll today in a Pilatus B-4, while applying left stick to correct for a dipping right wing, the right wing suddenly dipped all the way into the ground. The glider lurched to the right, and a second or two later popped up into the air, a good 20 feet up and 30 or more...
