Mobile Aviation Antenna for RV by
Don Grillo[_2_]
I want to purchase an antenna to mount on the top of the ladder on my RV. I've been looking at the RAMI AV-3 and AV-7 antenna's. I will have to fabricate some sort of rotating base so that I can swing the antenna down while traveling as well as to remove the cable. The RAMI AV-3 has a 27" whip and...

Slingsby T.61 MotorFalke by
R. Wubben
Is this an exact copy of the Scheibe SF-25?
How hard is it to get Stamo engine parts in the US?
What would one go for in the US if it has been well taken care of and
recently recovered and repainted?
Could one register it in the new sport pilot, or Light Sport Aircraft
rules?
How are they to...

Camouflaged/Hidden Field Obstructions by
Bob Whelan[_3_]
In the spirit of the season - northern hemisphere winter, I mean, of course! -
another RAS thread raised the question of how Joe Glider Pilot might go about
assessing how much more field will be necessary if his chosen field has an
obstruction along/near its downwind border. (They all do, of...

Future of 15m by
John Foster
With the rise in popularity of 18m soaring, what do you guys think will be the future of 15m? Are there enough advantages of 15m over 18m for it to continue to have a strong place in competition? It seems most manufacturers are now making 18m sailplanes, that can be converted to 15m, but they...

Winch Weak Link Strengths by
Kevin Neave[_2_]
Does anyone out there know how German Glider Manufacturers calculate the
max weak link strength for winching?
Presumanbly this is also related to the max winch speed
For example in the UK the max winch speed of a K13 depends on which weak
link (Brown or Black) is being used

iPhone X and iGlide - the verdict is in. by
waremark
As owner of an Oudie IGC (also Samsung S8, Kobo Glo HD, and LX 9000) I think brightness has ceased to be a major issue. I have never encountered any conditions in which the Oudie (pointed at me) is difficult to read. What is the relevance of looking at the instrument at an angle?

Glider Insurance by
LAX
Is everyone insured by Costello Insurance?
I am purchasing a glider and it comes down to this, the annual premiums I was quoted are approximately equal to the cost of the glider divided by 16. That is my annual payment. In other words, if I don’t have insurance, every 16 years I could buy a new...

DG 100 canopy? by
Pete[_9_]
Hi all,
I'm looking for a DG 100 canopy used or new in the USA. I thought I would try here as this Group also helped me find the glider that needs the canopy.
It's old, scratched, and poorly installed. There's a lot of excess "goop" around the frame. Seems like new one would be best. I know it may...

Final Glide - Ray Temchus by
Charlie Papa[_2_]
I just got the sad news that Ray Temchus, former President of Freedom's Wings International, has passed away.
Ray was the first quadriplegic Commercial license glider pilot in the USA, and the first CFIG.
He generously brought his glider, a G 103 with hand controls, to my club in Canada to...

Bungee Material for Landing Gear and Engine Bay Doors by
[email protected]
I am looking for a source for bungee material for my landing gear and engine bay doors (ASH-26E). The original (German-sourced?) bungee is about 5 mm diameter and stretches to about twice the rested length. The 3/16 inch USA-sourced material I have been able to find (McMaster-Carr, etc.) doesn't...
