Broken Phone, Missing App by
Charlie Papa[_2_]
I had an app on my Nexus phone that satisfied the ramp check requirements for an up-to-date VNC chart, and best of all it was free.
Then, I wore my phone into a swimming pool. Turns out, that's not good for the phone.
When I received the repaired phone, the installed apps were all gone. And...

SeeYou questions by
[email protected]
New to SeeYou. Do not want to load worldwide databases. Want to "load" so SeeYou allows flight management in only specific US contest sites.
In SeeYou architecture, is it possible to create contest site specific sub-folders which “house" waypoint and airspace information? If yes, please...

Discus 2 hits white mountains by
Jonathan St. Cloud
Anyone have any more details on the Discus 2 that hit high on the White Mountains? The pilot was recovered with minor injuries, thank goodness. For those flying the Inyo's, Whites or other mountains, it is worth reading Henry Coombs Article and JJ"s article "Don't smack the mountain".

Trailer Light Troubleshooting by
George Haeh
Tested lights after pulling trailer out of sheltered winter storage.
Taillights not
working; turn and brake lights OK. No problem driving to field in daylight.
Pulled out the meter and found 0V at the car end connector. No taillights
on
the car. Replaced fuse. Still no taillights on trailer,...

Trig TT22 transponder issues by
Echo
Installed my transponder this off season, passed the transponder check to make it legal. First flight with it yesterday. Called the local controlling agency to check it out. They had nothing on me, but they did once I cycled the transponder off and back on. I then realized that where the "ALT"...

1987 Cobra Trailer Brake drum removal by
[email protected]
We have a 1987 Cobra Trailer that had its brakes fried. Crew forgot to release brake. Does anyone know how to remove the brake drum? Newer Cobras have a Allen bolt that when removed the entire assembly come off. This trailer does not have that. Any input is helpful.

Oudie IGC spurious RF emissions by
Evan Dosik
My Oudie IGC will too often break the squelch with a hideous noise on both my panel radio (an old Dittel) and also most any handheld that comes within about 12" of the Oudie.
Anyone else seeing this issue?
Thanks,
Evan

CAI 302 startup noises? by
Echo
After powering up today, I noticed something from the 302's speaker that seems new. Could have been there all along and I'm just noticing, but seems odd to me. After the wind up and wind down audio vario sound, maybe 3-5 seconds later, there's a single LOUD tone lasting about one second. The heck...

OLC - Often a Lost Cause by
Dan Marotta
Yesterday I flew with Uli Neumann in his Caproni A-21 S, and what fun we
had! Uli, who flies out of South Carolina, said happily, "This is
almost like cheating!" We made a simple 300k triangle with very few
turns and then retired to my home for a beer and cheese burger (thanks,...

A Tale of Two Takeoffs by
[email protected]
I have a secret.
Well, like secrets in a Congressional Intelligence subcommittee, this one is probably known by several hundred people. But I haven’t written about it. Until now.
But first, the lead in. A few days ago on the last day at the Cordele nationals, I dropped a wing on takeoff. The...

Splittng a GPS antenna to multiple devices by
JS
Didn't want to further derail the thread about Trig TN72.
This thread has been up before?
It is possible and functional to use one GPS antenna for multiple GPS receivers.
If you use GPS antennas that will only accept power of 3V you must put DC blockers on all but one receiver. The one receiver...
