First lesson - Tips? by Nicholas Giese
Well, after years of being an armchair pilot in Condor, I've finally booked my first-ever soaring lesson for this weekend. If anyone has any general tips they'd like to pass along, I'll gladly listen! I'm sure the first flight will be very memorable. -Nick

Circuit diagram required by Soartech
Does anyone know why Google is reposting stuff from 14 years ago?? Note the date on the first post in this thread. This has happened several times lately. Do they think this group doesn't have enough traffic so they pump it up with old posts? What ever the reason, it is weird.

Club scheduling software with custom alerts? by [email protected]
When someone decides not to fly at a time they've scheduled, the glider often goes unused because no one knows the spot opened up. Is there a scheduling system that lets you set email/text alerts on multiple times you're interested in? We use aircraftclubs.com, which lets you schedule a "backup"...

WTB: DG-100/200 by [email protected]
Hi, I'm a new PPG w/ about 20 hours. I'm looking to purchase my first glass ship to start working on my badges. I've done most of my flying in an L-23 an SGS 2-33, an ASK-21 and a Grob 103A. I'm 6'3" and 165 lbs and I've heard "You'll fit no problem" to "you won't fit" when it comes to the DG's. I...

PW-5 Assembly Question by MNLou
To all - I own a PW-5. Assembling the tailplane has always been a bit "tight" but yesterday, to my frustration, the left tailplane pin refused to be inserted into the left fuselage articulated bearing. The pin would insert to the shoulder and then refused to go further. After much cleaning,...

it's longer better? ( TE probe ) by Piotr Jaszczuk
Hi all, I've been checking recently different online shops to see what tail fin mounted TE probe I can get. All manufacturers have probes in more less two different lengths, 80-90 cm and 55 cm. And now I'm wondering if it's worth spending around 30 Euro more to get the longer one, ...

Hi ladies and gents, Here is a video made by Sebastian Kawa on ECG 2013 at Ostrów in Poland. This video presents final glide of his Discus 2a wing to wing with Arcus flying at 200km/h. As you can see at this speed performance of 20m span glider is no better than 15m Discus 2a. :)...

Hi, I have uploaded the video from my flights on Saturday. It is best viewed at 720p. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VvRDRy2pm4&feature=youtu.be It was not a good soaring day but it was a very smooth day - which was perfect for taking my mom and dad for rides. We were flying in a DG-1000S...
