PowerFLARM Range Issues - Part Two with info from todays flights by
Mark
I had a chance to load a new config file and was able to fly today.
There was no "flarm range" in my original config file. With the file I used today the "flarm range" config was set to maximum with the statement below. I had several flarm detections that occured around 4 miles. This is between...

Help with FAA glider exemption petiton by
[email protected]
Hello fellow soaring pilots,
I'm asking for your help in receiving an exemption to new FAA regulations that require a yearly FAA checkride to fly a jet sailplane.
Here's the story:
In 2011, FAA issued new regulations regarding training for pilots of turbojet powered aircraft. These new...

Piper Pawnee brake by

Does anyone know where our club can find a LH Torque Plate, p/n 675-02400 for our Pawnee? Our local mechanic is being given a two month delivery estimate from Univair for this part.

750K ... One Turn by
Papa3[_2_]
Not a bad day on the New Jersey and Pennsylvania ridges today. A rare SE day without cloud or rain issues. Bill Thar flew his Duck Hawk for an "easy" 750K with only one turn in 5.5 hours. Not too shabby!

Colibri II query by
waremark
Does anybody have a Colibri II logger?
This looks like a splendid device, capable of serving as a backup audio vario and a backup nav system as well as an approved logger. However, from reading the manual online it looks as though the only way of downloading an IGC file is via a micro SD card. Can...

APIS motorglider talwheel by
[email protected]
Has anyone had any experience in removing the steerable tailwheel fork from an APIS motorglider. I am having great difficulty in removing same, perhaps due to corrosion. I have tried various releasing agents such as Releasall, WD-40, etc, with no results. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

PowerFLARM leeching comments by
Chris Nicholas[_2_]
When the first vario was put into a glider, it presumably gave the pilot a
competitive advantage.
So does every move forward in soaring and cruising performance.
Then came flight computers.

Becker 4201 Radio Wiring Diagram - need help by
Scott Alexander[_2_]
I am confused with the wiring diagram of the manual. Can anyone help
clear up some confusion on the placement of the PTT wires? Where do
wires 17 & 25 go in conjunction with the two wires that come from the
PTT on the control stick?

LiFePO4 battery technolocy by
[email protected]
My RC friends who use LiFePO4 swear by them. They handle high amperage drain and can be charged at higher amperage than other battery technology. They are not as popular in RC as they are heavier and larger than equal LiPo amperage. These differences are not a concern for sailplane use.
And of...
