K6 cr Canopies by
Rob Shepherd
Evening folks,
I own a K6cr that has its original small bubble as well as another frame
with a cut down, open canopy.
Looking on the net I see many other cr's that have a much larger bubble,
the canopy frame seems to have been cut away.
Have some owners made their own alterations to the frame to...

Results and reports from Seniors" by
Walt Connelly
I am trying to look at the tracking info for individual gliders at the recent Seniors Championship. I opened results and reports on the SSA web site and see a number of small squares with alpha numerics under them. Nothing indicating individual gliders. When I click on one I am informed that I...

1998 ASW24 water bag leak where bag meets PVC valve by
Barny
It's leaking where the bag is clamped to the PVC pipe just before the
ball valve with the push rod. It's likely original as I bought it
with 230 hours in 2008. When I remove the clamps, what will I find
for the seal? Is the existing sealant RTV or a gasket? What to use to
re-seal it? Will I...

O2 Bottle Space by
Whiskey Delta
I am curious how to best utilize my unused oxygen cylinder receptacle
space. Since I fly in an area where we rarely get above 5,000 feet, I
have available for use this long empty slot. It would be great to be
able to use it to store items that I might want to get to during
flight. The trick...

Where to buy good value glider trailer tires by
jim archer
I went to a popular western US tire shop and they quoted me $175 for
two 13" tires. I didn't buy them. Surely I can get good tires for
less than that somewhere? If so please specify brand and type. I do
drag the glider a couple thousand miles each summer so I don't want
cheapest, just good...

Brief review of Android XCSoar on the Streak 5 and LK8000 on the MIO 400 by
Mike[_8_]
Just received a Streak 5, updated to Froyo and installed XCSoar for
Android, and thought I would compare it to the MIO 400 with LK8000
that I used last year and give a quick review.
First of all, if you purchase a Streak 5 on Ebay, expect to pay about
$300-$400.00. If it is a used Streak like I...

FCC publishes stay of 121.5 MHz ELT ban by
Eric Greenwell[_4_]
Read the AOPA article he
http://tinyurl.com/3bnyg9t
I'm not suggesting a 121.5 MHz ELT is a good choice, just that you can
continue using it. I have one that I will continue to use, but I also
have a SPOT.

(USA) logbook endorsement requirement(s) for new glider type? by
Tuno
For as long as I've been flying anything, including and especially
gliders, I've had a CFI endorse a cockpit checkout in my logbook, for
any new aircraft type I flew.
Can someone tell me what/who requires this? Is it strictly insurance
companies, or is there a relevant FAR paragraph?
The reason...
