302 5V out by
T8
Does anyone know whether the 302 uses an (efficient) switch mode DC
converter, or just a plain old regulator (doubles as a toaster)? I'm
idly wondering if it's worth my while to wire in a separate switch
mode power supply for the PDA -- you can get good quality DC/DC
converters that run with 90%...

leading edge templates by
glider[_2_]
Several years ago, we made templates along the leading edge of a
popular standard class sailplane . The particular sailplane was a
winner. It was shocking to compare the left and right wing contours
with these templated. Close? Not at all. But the sailplane went very
well.
Then we did the same on...

Flamed by
Frank Whiteley
Not what you think;^)
Someone once described to me how quickly a 2-33 burned as he pulled it
out of a grass fire. This 'crash' was in the online media, but one
significant item was left out of the article. Read on.

Inyokern questions by
Grider Pirate
Some very nice flights originate from Inyokern, and I'd like to fly
from there one weekend. A couple questions:
1. Does the airport allow "Ramp Tramps"? I usually sleep in my truck
when visiting glider ports.
2. Are tows (conditions permitting) always available on weekends?
3. Is oxygen...
