I do not think that "Experimental" is "Standard".. but I could be

You are not wrong. It sounds like experimentals are excluded.

Be careful what you buy. Some generic renter's policies do not cover

Cherokee II O&R by
Tony[_5_]
I had a fun time skipping work yesterday. Declared a 300 km out and
return and took off at ~ 1PM. I made sure to get a valid start within
1 km of the start point on the opposite side of my course. Lift was
not as good as forecast but I was soon finding 4-5 knots up and
climbing to around 8000...

Glider Rental Insurance: by
Walt Connelly
A rather unfortunate event at the gliderport I frequent has prompted me to ask a few questions regarding renters insurance for gliders. The unfortunate individual whose flying (or lack thereof) resulted in the loss of a Schweizer 1-34 will, I understand, be responsible for the deductible portion...

SSA on the Road...Literally by
Chip Bearden[_2_]
Like many in the competition community, I'd occasionally been critical
of the SSA staff in the past not so much for not understanding what we
competition pilots do (sometimes it doesn't even make sense to me) but
for their apparent lack of interest even when we had contests across
the road from SSA...

Diana-2 and overall performance discussion by
tommytoyz[_2_]
I find it amazing that there are not more pilots flying the Diana-2 at
the worlds, since it seems to be head and shoulders above anything
else in the 15M. I guess too many pilots do not like the side stick or
lack of manufacturer reputation. Maybe the Australia fiasco stopped
many. Or are there...

Flying from your own property? by
tienshanman
Assuming one owns a suitable chunk of land in a rural area, what are the regulatory hurdles to overcome in order to be able legally fly a self launching sailplane from your own property?

Glider Property Tax - Colorado? by
tienshanman
Can anyone tell me whether one must pay property tax on a glider in Colorado? If so, how is it calculated? There was a thread on this a couple of years ago; looking for recent data. Thanks.

Nice tip worked - Schleicher cockpit handles by
Tuno
The most important cockpit checkout given to me when I got my ASG29
was from Steve Koerner (GW), who suggested this very simple checklist
item for the landing pattern: "right side handles forward". So if
you're fatigued or not thinking straight and the eyes can't parse
words or diagrams just...

L13 AD more by
Mike[_28_]
FWIW, there is another EASA Emergency AD (2010-0160-E) that updates
and supersedes the June Emergency AD. I don't know what the
differences are as I don't have a copy of the first one. Whether by
accident or not, the US AD seems to less restrictive. To paraphrase

Paramotoring low altitude danger after takeoff by

That is a low altitude paragliding (no motor) fatal crash.
Strangely IMO there is a paramotoring (powered paragliding)
instructional video that condones releasing the cords and
repositioning yourself shortly after takeoff. Reminds me...
