Typical metric stock for panel mounted instruments by
Ken Kochanski (KK)
Anybody know the size range of metric fasteners we typically use for
our panel mounted instruments ... for Dittle, Borgelt, etc ... I just
wanted to order some stock ... maybe 3 - 6 mm diameter ... 10 mm
long ... thanks.

What happened to xcskies??? by
Scott Alexander[_2_]
Everytime I have used xcskies over the past month it is plagued with
problems.
The contour of the top of useable lift maps are straight lines that go
for 100 some miles, which is obviously false. And the selection of
dates and times is 90 percent missing. The areas that historically
had higher...

Special Thanks to Cindy Brickner by
Alpha One
A belated public thanks to Cindy Brickner who supported us during the
Station Fire in Southern California, USA, last year. Cindy offered her
services and marshalled the services of others in case we had to
evacuate the field.
We had five weeks of a TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) on a good...

CFI-G and Badges, racing by
glider[_2_]
Just for fun, I wonder how many CFI-G types have Gold Badges with
Diamonds? How many instructors compete?
I would think that an active instructor is not the same chap that
goes for long flights or gets involved with competition. I'll bet it
takes a different mind-set to want to...

Dealing with SO's. by

What is the SO you ask?
A new government fee? A new safety program? A new officer position
in your club?
Nope, its way more invasive than any of these things and has
incredible power that is weilded almost nonchallantly or on a whim it
seems sometimes.
Some people are married to it, some just...

Log file special: Microsoft Windows file sort order by
Tuno
This one has bugged the !@#$ out of me for a few years: in a folder
full of IGC files, sorting by "Name" would sort by ... something else.
Never could figure out what.
Today I found the answer here, and it works: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319827

Dual axle sway by
glider[_2_]
The big enclosed trailer was made in the UK and the running gear was
from Germany. The big Tundra did a good job towing until about 60
MPH when the trailer would start to sway. I'll fix that...easy. I toss
in a couple of bags of crushed rocks in front. No change. Another bag
was added to the...

"Category 1" flying with a Standard Certificate of Airworthiness for
