Ventus 1 - anyone have experience w/o aileron centering spring? by
Gary Emerson
I have heard that the aileron centering spring on the Ventus 1 was for
certification, and it's removal doesn't impact flight handling. If you
have actual first hand experience with flying a Ventus with this spring
removed, I'd love to hear from you via e-mail
Thanks!

CFIG Lawsuits? by
noel.wade
Hi All,
Recently some CFIGs in our local club have really gotten skittish
about sharing their knowledge. They seem to be getting all amped up
about the legal liability issues of instructing in today's court
system - even to the point of being reluctant to talk in our club's
online discussion...

It's student weather! by
[email protected]
A fellow instructor and I were just musing today that this is the
perfect weather for students. We live and fly in some of the most
dynamic soaring conditions in the world, where half the year you're
being battered by thermals from 11:00 am until sunset, and a good part
of the rest of the year the...

SeeYou Mobile with SN10B data by
kirk.stant
Does anyone have any experience driving SeeYouMobile from an SN10B,
using both the GPS data and the vario/wind/air data that the SN10 can
now transmit to a PDA?
Wondering if it is worth the trouble to have a new SN10 wiring harness
made to work with my PDA.
TIA,
Kirk

Tow rope reel by
Don[_4_]
Our club here in the States is considering purchasing a tow rope reel for
our Pawnee. We have roads at both ends of our runway, requiring us to land
very long to prevent dragging rope/rings over the road. We read old posts
on this subject but nothing was very conclusive. Am most concerned...

Breguet gliders still flying? by
Frederic Rahal
Hi,
I'm a french glider pilot, flying at La Montagne Noire, near Toulouse; I
also bring up with a glider museum on the airfield. In our collection, we
have a two-seater Breguet 904, a Breguet 901 and a Breguet 905 Fauvette;
those gliders can still fly, and we would like to collect some...

Outside Air Tempeture Instrument in Glider by
[email protected]
I plan on installing a tempeture guage inside the cockpit of my
glider. I think it's a good thing to have that can add to safety.
For instance, it's nice to know just how hot it is during those summer
days on a short runway. Also, to know if your in potential icing
conditions at altitudes. I've...

Region 12 Soaring Map - Help the soaring community! by
Michael Reid
All,
I have been flying with Evergreen Soaring in Seattle, Wa for the past
year but will be moving to Tehachapi, Ca for work at the end of this
month. At Evergreen I have been developing a local knowledge soaring
map using simple google map tools. The map has proven very valuable
in documenting...

Kestrel 19 Questions by
[email protected]
Sorry for posting aircraft-specific questions in here, but I haven't
received any responses from my queries in the Kestrel401 forum.
I recently bought a Slingsby T59D Kestrel 19. Love the ship :) Okay,
it's big and heavy, but so am I.
I need to get my hands on the Addenda for the POH,...

US Club Class Participation by
[email protected]
In a couple earlier threads related to a proposed Club class, I asked
pilots who
don't compete now, but would if we created a Club class, to reply
either on line or to me as RC chair. I indicated I would report the
result.
The response, surprisingly, was no replys.
The element we are looking for...

http://711reporting.blogspot.com/ Information on AMT's new Titan UAV
88 lb thrust engine.
Also, seems to be alot of talk on the Club Class. Just my 2 cents,
Club class should have its own scoring, but can still be run within
the Sports Class Nationals, as their seeding scores will then come
from...

K13 Opinions by
Mike125
Our club is considering purchasing a second 2-33 (hold the flames
please) as a primary trainer. Our main reasons for these are 1) we are
small and have limited budget and 2) the cost of maintaining a 2-33 is
minimal thanks to their tank-like construction. I've seen a couple of
K13s on the market...
