Valid OLC log out of SN-10b by
Jim Archer
I cannot get a valid OLC flight out of my SN-10b. I purchased the glider a
few months ago, have flown a few flights and all are invalid on OLC.
Prior to download the SN-10 security routine runs and approves the file.
OLC tells me the file error message on his end says Signature Missmatch
and he...

Towing with a Husky by
BDS[_2_]
Our club has a Husky on leaseback as one of our tow planes.
In order to keep the temps within desired limits on the Husky (I think they
shoot for 425 cht max) we have to tow at higher speeds than would be typical
for say, a Pawnee. This isn't necessarily a problem for glass ships but it
is for...

Oxford Gliding Club under threat - please help by
Claudia Buengen (online)
Hi all,
some of you may be aware that the UK government is planning the
construction of 10 so-called "eco" towns on this little windy island in
the next few years.
Unfortunately one of the 15 shortlisted sites includes RAF
Weston-on-the-Green, home to the Oxford Gliding Club, one of the oldest...

3,000ft tow = $100? by
[email protected]
With the price of AV Gas around $5/gal. at my local airport (KTSP) I
am wondering
when a 3,000 t tow will cost $100? My local FBO charges about $70 for
a 3,000ft.
Are there any FBO's charging $100 for a standard tow?

BFR? by
Scott[_7_]
Here's a question. I'm a private pilot, ASEL. If I get my glider
rating, will I have to do a separate BFR for each (powered and glider)?
If not, is would it just be a matter of currency (3 takeoffs and
landing within past 90 days if I want to take passengers)?

500k in Carbon Dragon by
Leo Benetti-Longhini
Steve Arndt of New Hampshire flew a 500 km declared distance goal today in
his homebuilt "Magic Dragon". The glider he built is a modified Carbon
Dragon (longer span, winglets, etc) with really beautiful attention to
detail - I recall an empty weight of around 180 lbs! Steve launched on...

Electric Trailer Brakes, (Revisited) by
sisu1a
Hi All,
By request, I am posting my electric brakes vs surge brakes article/
rambling. It is much the same info as my post on the subject before,
but written more in an article format. It is of course unfinished, but
pretty much covers my thoughts on the subject. My apologies for any
redundant...

David Fee
Hello all.
I am trying to find the author of this soaring poem.
I'd like to use it in a presentation but want to credit the author.
The metal wings dates it somewhat.
Thanks....dave.

Airspeed Indicator Strangeness by
Frank[_1_]
Yesterday on the takeoff roll, I discovered my airspeed indicator was
stuck. I got off tow a little early, and returned to the field to
sort things out.
Back on the ground, I visually inspected the pitot tube (in the
vertical fin on my Ventus 2bx), removed and blew out the short pitot
tube, and...

Grob Twin III Must read! by
[email protected]
Our club's Twin III had a major problem that was found in a Positive
Control Check, the bolt holding the belcranks for the airbrakes and
the elevator (located behind the rear seat in the control hookup area)
had sheared.
Grob will probably be doing an AD for instpection soon, our plane is
at Grob...

Cambridge S-nav Help by
Jan Eldem[_2_]
Hi All,
I've currently got a s-nav installed in my pegasus.
The problem is can you wire up a undercarrage alarm like what you can do
the the L-nav??
I fly on tarmac runways so the idea of landing with the wheel up doesn't
sound like FUN

PCC by
rich
After reading the 43 posts I began to wonder how I could go beyond the
free and full, since I'm usually at the 232 first. I could wake up
the Samoan security guy, and risk him handing me an aileron in return,
or get creative. I have a club in the car, I used its hooked end and
telescoping locked...
