(USA) New glider inspections question by
Tuno
I met with a DAR today with the intent of getting the Certificate of
Airworthiness (Experimental, Exhibition/Racing) for the new glass
slipper, but he could not complete the transaction because the logbook
does not contain an entry indicating inspection within the last 30
days by an FAA certified...

Ridge Winds by
[email protected]
Our email provider is out of service, so our newsletter is also down.
Tomorrow, Wednesday looks like good ridge winds in the morning,
however, the weather guessers are saying they should shift well out of
the north as the day progresses.
Tows will begin at dawn.

Towing with 2008 volvo xc70 or what? by
AK
In 2008 this model got a new softer suspension. I drove it and I
thought it had more body roll than I would like to have. Comfort was
great but handling I am not sure, especially for towing. So my
question is does anyone has any experience with model year 2008?
I also test drove the BMW X3 and I...

Al Stacey pictures by

Ran across pictures by Al Stacey when I was googling this weekend. He
has some nice ones of gliders I flew at RAF Bicester. The K-7 picture
maybe John Littleton.

Tie Wrap on Ventus Fin??? by
Gary Emerson
I've got a Ventus b. On the top of the fin (under the horizontal
stabilizer) is a single tie wrap that appears to hold something to the
underside. Just curious, anyone know what that item might be? Seems to
high to be a support for the TE probe tubing. There is no tail tank
installed. ...

basic club logger suggestions by
kirk.stant
Looking for ideas on a basic logger for a glider club - something that
will make .igc compatible log files (for OLC and SeeYou) and local
contests.
Thinking of a Garmin handheld that could be turned on, tossed in the
back of the cockpit, then downloaded after the flight.
Suggestions?

Wanted to buy: LNAV by
[email protected]
My LNAV flaked out and Cambridge no longer will repair them (see their
email below), so I'm looking for a used one to replace mine. I hate to
buy another orphan, but suspect this will bring prices down and it's
the fastest way to get flying again.
This policy is a brand new one -- I shipped this...

Expanded Glider Budget - Choices? by
noel.wade
Hi All,
Back at the beginning of the year, I anticipated being able to upgrade
my glider. I bought my Russia AC-4a in 2007 on a very limited budget
and have thoroughly enjoyed its sprightly handling, easy rigging, and
climb capability. However, a big jump in my position at work has
given the the...

Location for temperature probe in ASG 29? by
Tuno
The Walletwomper II is now safely in the back yard. The factory left
power points and the proper hole in the instrument panel for the 302,
but no pre-drilled location for the temperature probe I can find
anywhere. I'm awaiting a response from the Powers That Be, but in the
meantime, does anyone...

szd 55-1 by
Gsoar
Hello,
I would like to get opinions regarding the szd 55-1. What I have
heard so far is that it tends to drop a wing when there is a bit of a
crosswind on take off but, is this more common with this glider than
other high performance standard class gliders? The gentleman I spoke
with had 4 aborted...
