Polar with spoilers extended? by
Tim Taylor
I am working though some calculations and need the sink rate as a
function of speed with the spoilers fully extended. Does anyone know
of such data for a glider? How do spoilers extended affect sink rate
as a function of speed?
Thanks,
Tim

Pik-20 Parts in Europe maybe? by
WAVEGURU
So far I've had little luck finding any replacement parts for my
abused Pik project here in the USA. It looks like I'll need rudder
pedals, stick, trim, flap mechanism, and all of the linkages for the
cockpit. Does anybody else in the world have any Pik salvage with
usable parts?

Bluetooth Microphone? by
Gary Emerson
Just curious if anyone is making a viable bluetooth microphone or
perhaps a bluetooth headset that is compatible with our typical aviation
radios.
Obviously glider pilots really only need the microphone, but since it's
a small market one might have to live with the headset.
A bit of googling...

UAV Crash in Arizona (Long) by
Mike the Strike
Details of the Predator UAV crash in Arizona have just been released.
Currently two of these pilotless 66-foot wing-span beasts are flying
along the Arizona border as part of border patrols and a third will be
added next year. Some of us local pilots are underwhelmed.
The crash resulted from loss...

Soaring Servers by

The soaringweb.org Soaring Server is down, and I have been unable to
reboot the machine by the telephone modem so it will be out of service
until a least the 22nd when Guenther Eichhorn is able to reboot it.
But the two mirror sites - http://soaring.gahsys.com, maintained by

Heros by
fred
A well respected and well liked glider pilot has been promoted to hero
status in my opinion. The busiest pilot I know is now fighting fires
600 miles from home. He is allowed two minutes of phone time each day.
I was a Firefighter long ago and I know what it is like to work a
disaster for 24 hours...

Gel coat inspection by
Matt Keast[_2_]
Does anyone know of someone in North Carolina or the
surrounding states that could do a professional gel
coat inspection? Preferably someone who has experience
with glider refinishing and old gel coats. I've been
unable to find any sailplane repair (refinishing) facilities
in the above area.

Hello everyone,
I'm thinking about replacing my current Colibri logger with the new version
with built-in Flarm. It seems to be an easy way to add Flarm without the
hassle of rewiring and adding yet another box to the panel.
Any experiences and pros/cons out there? Reliability? Compatibility with...
