Cockpit digital cameras? by
Bullwinkle
Anybody have any suggestions for digital cameras to take in the cockpit?
Looking for:
Small, so easy storage in the cockpit. Shirt pocket compatible. I've also
got a Powershot S50, which is too thick for my purposes, although length and
width is fine
Decent resolution (5 MP or above?)
Large...

Blanik L-23 by
BDS[_2_]
Our club just acquired an L-23 and we are going to be tying it down outside.
For those of you out there with L-23s, we are wondering how you go about
securing the tail, considering that the tailwheel mounting area seems
somewhat sensitive to damage.
We were considering going so far as to make a...

Downloading GPS-NAV file to Ipaq by
Greg Arnold
Several days ago, I asked about software to download a GPS-NAV file to
an Ipaq. Gary at Cambridge responds:
"We never wrote software to download from GPS-NAV's to iPAQ's. ConnectMe
is free software from SEEYOU that will do this."

Wiring Schematic: LXIPQ39 to IPAQ by
[email protected]
I'm hooking an IPAQ 39xx to an LX5000. datalogger via an LXIPQ39 Power/
Data adapter (a gizmo from LX Navigation that supplies power to the
IPAQ while also transmitting data from the logger).
I have a good wiring schematic for the Nimbus cradle that holds the
IPAQ, but nothing readable for the...

ActiveSync for Vista by
Dennis[_3_]
Greetings from a new member. I read the previous posts regarding this
subject but did not discern a consensus. I have a new laptop with
Vista and an old PDA (Ipaq5555) with PocketPC2003. ActiveSync 4.x is
designed for Vista, but doesn't support PocketPC. (supposedly) Must I
convert the 5555 to...

Armchair CD U.S. Sports Class Nats by
Mitch
From looking at the sports class nationals scores, And seeing that
their have been only THREE landouts in four days of a 42 glider
NATIONALS, I'm thinking CD McQuigg is not pushing his troops hard
enough at this huge contest. I have heard that he is an ultra-
conservative CD, which is fine for a...

Transponder for ASW-19 by
jcarlyle
Is there any US pilot here who has installed a transponder in an
ASW-19? I'm trying to get a copy of a 337 for such an installation, to
help smooth the way at my FSDO.

DG300 horizontal stab. bolt saftey wire by
[email protected]
The Horizontal Stab. is held in position by a captive bolt that is
prevented from backing out by a spring steel wire that slides through
a slot in that bolt. Mine just broke. Does anyone have experiance with
that little wire and it's replacement?

Al Santilli R.I.P. by

Al Santilli is dead. Long live the legend.
For a good portion of his life Al made his home here in the
Albuquerque area and was a along term member of the Albuquerque
Soaring Club.
Al's huge contribution to soaring will not be remembered by his
contest performance, nor by his development of new...

I Like My Tow Pilots But... by

I mean, no tow, no play, I respect that, but they do get to fly for
free. What else should they expect?

Buying a used GLider by
JSF-TC
Can I tap into the groups collective wisdom regarding the best process to
use when buying a used glider from another private owner. My first purchase
seven years ago was easy, but I'd like to refresh my memory on all the
things to do, and more importantly what not to do.
The glider is nearly...

Summer Soliloquy - WSPA Style by
CindyASK
I had the pleasure of flying at Avenal with the Women's Soaring
Seminar this past week. One of the traditions of WSPA and their
summer flight week is to have the participants write limericks about
the week's events, or their thoughts on flying, or each other. I flew
over in a Citabria, was only...

Cambridge 302 blank screen by
[email protected]
Has anyone seen this behavior? This has happened twice this season for
the first time in four years of use.
The home screen goes blank during flight. I press the control knob and
the 302 wakes up but not with the normal power up. Instead the display
indexes to the next screen as during normal...

Wanted: 302 data by
Tuno
If anyone has data captured from a 302 they can share with me, I need
some to test PDA software. A complete flight would be best, but I'll
take anything.
Not looking for an IGC log file -- I want the raw feed from the 302,
e.g. captured by GpsGate, with nmea, vario, pressure altitude, etc.
Data...
