Standalone Flight Recorders for Club Use by
ContestID67
I am the electronics maintainence chairman for my glider club. As
the club members interests in cross country soaring grew, I was tasked
with creating a flight recorder that everyone could use in our club
ships. While the club had several mechanical barographs, they were
deemed not viable as...

Slap-On Sun Visor by
jeplane
You find them at Sportys or auto parts for example. Easy to apply-just
"slap on" and they stay put. Use it over and over just by peeling off
and slapping on again.
Have you guys found this type of visor easy to use?
If not, what do you use to protect yourself under your...

Pegasus 3000 Hour Life Limit AD by
[email protected]
Can anybody tell me if there's a possibility this will ever get
resolved? I know the AD was issued more than a year ago, and that's
about the last I've heard. Are all the Pegasus owners in the US stuck
with a 3000 hour ship? At the time of the AD, there was some talk
that there would be a follow...

soaring wx books? by
jt
Looking for soaring weather books, especially a self published one by
a senior US weather forecaster / sailplane pilot that I used to have.
Was informal and not too technical, yet pragmatic and leading edge in
terms of his speculative theories. Anything like it available? thanks

Ridge soaring accident by
Dick[_3_]
One solution to a low battery in a cell phone is a product available
on the internet called a Sidewinder Portable Cell Phone Charger. It
has a hand crank eliminating the need to replace batteries. Check
http://www.thetravelinsider.info/roadwarriorcontent/sidewinder.htm
It runs about $25.

DG-300/303 owners... by
Alan Montague
Is there any scope for non-destructive testing by industrial
radiology?
X-rays are sensitive in showing up minor ripples in
children's bones? Would they work for the ripples in
my spar?
If so it might be financially viable.

Takeoff distances by
Kilo Charlie
Has anyone done calculations for takeoff distances for various density
altitudes, weights and winds for their sailplane-towplane combination?
Every powered plane POH has a table but there are none in the glider books
for obvious reasons (HP of towplane for one).
The Arizona Soaring Assn flies...
