Dear Friends,
You may find these Air Transport Pilot (ATP) airman
credentials interesting.
These ATP airman credentials shew
glider rating only
with no airplane ratings. Can you explain this?
Can you do same?

Pannting aluminum glider trailer by
Jim Culp
Shine it, with a protective polished coating inherent
in the product. Simpler than paint.
To make paint adhere to aluminum requires a lot of
preparation;
polishing does not take so much work.
You can hire unskilled labor to do the polishing,
Senor.

Wanted- Open Blanik Trailer by
Fish
I will be shipping a glider in Cobra trailer in 40ft Container from LA
to Australia shortly.
I am thinking that an open trailer put on it's side might slot nicely
up beside the Cobra.
Our gliding club sorely needs a trailer for its Blanik L13.
If you know of a trailer that would be available in...

Airspace Violations OLC by
Mal
The OLC organizers have to assume that the participants in the contest will
not violate restricted airspace during their flights. ATC clearances are
necessary to enter certain airspace. The OLC team will not check if a pilot
has obtained the necessary clearance to enter airspace which needs...

Transponder Antenna Thought by
Gary Emerson
Had this random thought over the weekend. Figured there were people on
RAS that might have information to say whether this would help or hurt
the transmit "power" of a transponder.
Instead of mounting a single antenna on the belly of the fuse where it
can get beat up in the trailer, off field...

Thermal History Software? by
Gary Emerson
A year or two ago someone said they had seen some software that would
pick thermal locations from IGC files and would start to map out thermal
"hot spots". The more IGC files the better the data got.
Anyone know if this is real and if so where to get the software?
Thanks,
Gary

Dave Sinclair
Does anyone have any recommendations on the appropriate
solar cell technology for in flight recharging of sealed

Wendezeiger Turn and Bank manual/info by
keelstrake
I'm putting in a new panel in my Open Cirrus. Mainly cleaning up and
reinstalling until I can afford to upgrade. The ship came with a
Wendezeiger Wz-402/2, 6 degree/sec, SAE Spec. AS -395 A, Turn and Bank.
The back plate indicates it is a 4 volt unit.
Does anyone have information or experience...

Volkslogger downloads with high-speed serial port & OLC submission by
Bill Daniels
This is just a data point for those having problems with OLC files.
I last evening I downloaded a 4 hour flight logged at a 4 second intervals.
The secure .igc file downloaded in 12 seconds. The VL took 45 seconds to
'calculate the key' before starting the download. The high-speed serial
port...

Designing a new panel by
Ken Bell
Does anyone have a CAD version of the Discus CS panel?
I have a new panel and would like to arrange my instruments
on computer before cutting. I guess it's a long shot
that anyone will have an e-layout of the panel but
just thought I'd ask.

I am researching the film 'The Sun Ship Game' which
featured George Moffat and Gleb Derujinsky in the 1969
Sugarbush Regionals in Vermont and the 1969 US Nationals
in Marfa. I would appreciate any recollections of these
two contests and their filming and would especially
