Q: Bridle hooks for Blanik L13? by
Roger Worden
Our club has Blanik L13's which we sometimes launch via auto tow. Can anyone
point us to a source for the metal hooks that connect to the releases on the
sides of the glider? We make our own bridles and are just in need of the
hooks.
Thanks.
Roger

winglets by
bagmaker
OK, I can get the theory (OR can I?) with winglets to reduce wingtip vortices.
Surely the best direction for the tip is DOWN!, I understand this may be difficult for actually making, especially with gliders and groundloops, aesthetics, etc, but can someone explain why they are pointing...

Robert Hart
Hi
I am part owner of a Nimbus 2c (Alice in Wonderland - see
http://www.hart.wattle.id.au/alice) and we want to reprofile her wings
as she has acquired a definite 'lump' on the upper surface of the wing.
We are looking for either a set of templates/guides (located here in
Australia of course) or...

Goldfish by

It was discovered recently
that taking of goldish

gives very splendid topic of conversation at the field
during the day, and in the bar or on the field drinking
locations in the even after flying.
Further, in two seaters it is easier to get females

Podcasts? by
Bullwinkle
There was a flurry of posts in the couple of weeks prior to the Convention
about getting podcasts of sessions using cell phones.
Can I assume by the silence since then that this did not come to fruition?
Thanks,

12 volt 7amp/h versus10amp/h ?? by
Udo Rumpf
If a 7 amp/h battery shows 12.00 volts exactly, after 5 hours
with a 5 Watt resistor, what voltage should a 10 amp/h battery show?
Both batteries are of the same type and starting from
the same voltage with surface charge removed.

Camera for cockpit photography by
5Z
I was browsing a CompUSA today and came across what looks like nearly
the perfect camera for taking photos from the cockpit. It's a Kodak
V570. 5 megapixel and a 23mm equivalent wide angle lens.
Here's a review:

Glider performance testing by

I recently reread Richard Johnson's article, "Sailplane Performance
Flight Test Methods" in the May, 1989 issue of Soaring magazine. In
the article Johnson mentions the Deceleration Measurement method of
determining a performance polar. It had occured to me a couple of
years ago that such a...

Komet Trailer Rims by
Tim Hanke
I am looking for trailer rims for a 2002 Komet trailer that are 5 lug,
112 mm bolt spacing, and 15 " rims. My understanding is that Komet
used a Mercedes truck axel. The rims must have a US DOT stamp. Any
clue where to get these quick?
Thanks,
Tim

DG-300 water bag valve Q. by
[email protected]
Okay, the valves at the wing root for the ballast bags have lost there
"spring" . In other words, they wont stay shut. I can pull on the
valve push rod slightly and get a good seal, but it leaks when I
release it. Is there a spring inside that push rod boot, that can be
adjusted/replaced, or...
