Kudos to SSA by
Ray Lovinggood
Just yesterday, I sent the SSA Webmaster a request
for an addition to the SSA webpage. He responded he
would look into it, but after the Convention. He was
VERY busy getting ready for the Convention, and understandibly
so.
He lied. He didn't wait until after the convention,
but changed and...

I hooked BOTH (don't ask) of my compaq aero 1550 pda's up to 12 volts,
directly...
....neither works at all now.
Before I bust 'em open and start digging around in thier innards, does
anyone know if they have a fuse, where it is, or any other hints...
thanks,

The Soft Release? by
Gary Boggs
I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but here in the USA it's pretty
wide spread to release the tension on the tow rope before pulling the
release handle by getting a little high, and then doing a shallow dive. If
I remember right, this came about because the tow hooks on the Schweizers
were...

FRAUD BUYING GLIDERS ........# 711 reporting by
[email protected]
A friend, who is selling his glider, just received a casher's check,
in the mail, from a guy who had never even called him. The guy then
called him and said he was sending someone over to pick it up, and my
friend could pay the guy who is picking it up the extra money. This
just happened, and the...

Battery health tesing by
[email protected]
I'm wondering if there's a simple or straightforward way to test an SLA
battery for general condition. Or a device I can buy that sucks a
charge out of a battery over a few hours and reports its actual
amp-hour capacity?

AC And Mary Williams Died Today
I was very saddened when I received word this evening that both A.
C. and his wife Mary died in a tragic automobile highway accident while
traveling in Oklahoma today. A.C. had been a National 1-26 Champion
pilot back in the 1960s, and had established the well-known...

sunglasses by
[email protected]
Hi,
I have been flying with Serengetti sunglasses for many years in a
sailplane with a clear
canopy. I bought a LS6 with a light blue tinted canopy which make my
cockpit to dark
when in the shade of cloud. Suggestion are welcome to solve this
problem.

S6
