FS: Tasman V1000 by
Matthew
About 1 1/2 seasons old. I installed a C302, so I don't need the Tasman
anymore. I must admit, I was a little surprised by how closely the Tasman
follows the C302!

DG-400 Oxygen Bottle Problems by
[email protected]
The only test and recertification station to serve Utah refuses to test
and fill the german factory bottles for the DG-400 since they do not
have a USA DOT stamp on them. The official regulations (which he
showed me) state that foreign bottles without the DOT stamp can only be
tested for "EXPORT"...

u.r.a.s question by
Martin Gregorie
Are there any news servers carrying uk.rec.aviation.soaring or does it
just exist within glider.pilot.net? I can't find it on the Demon news
server.
I much prefer using a proper newsreader to read news groups.

L-Nav audio vario problem by
Roy Clark, B6
Used my L-Nav without problems in July.
Family and work-related events kept me away until this past week-end.
No audio vario sound from my L-Nav. Makes a short, soft "choo" when
turned on, then nada.
Any ideas or advice?

Model 20 For Sale by
[email protected]
I am selling my Cambridge Model 20 flight recorder. It does not have
the display, only the recorder, owners manual, 110v power cable and
some of the cables that came with the unit. Logger was calibrated a
little over a year ago when it was in for service at Cambridge. Exact
date slips my mind but I...

Making a Good Choice by
skysailor
I am in the market for a sailplane and am having a difficult time in
choosing among five of them. They all seem to be one or two generations
before current "state of the art" aircraft. The ones that I am
interested in are as follows: DG-300,LS-4,LS-6,Discus B,& ASW-19. I
realize that the LS-6 is...

FS: RICO VACS speed to fly vario computer by
Victor Bravo
I just put a good condition RICO VACS soaring variometer with speed to
fly and audio up on ebay. Search for "RICO VACS" in the title and
you'll get it. This was a very popular and high quality vario that is
still a good instrument for the budget minded pilot. I have not used
it, but I removed it...

Oxymeters by
Gerhard Wesp
All,
anybody using oxymeters to control their saturation ratio during flight?
In the alps we frequently fly in altitudes around 10k feet where legally
no oxygen is required. However a recent article made me wonder if
additional oxygen would make sense even at these altitudes.
If I could confirm...

FLAPS by
skysailor
I have approximately 110 hours in sailplanes in the past 2 years and
had no prior experience. I am evaluating used gliders for purchase. The
big kahuna's in the club are pretty adamant about purchasing a first
glider without flaps. My question is: Are flaps that big a problem for
a low time pilot...
