Accident databases by
Bill Daniels
Can anyone post a link to a glider accident database. The BGA accident
database seems to be unavailable at the link I had bookmarked last year. I
am particularly interested in the DAeC or BGA databases.

low fuselage trailer ramps by
[email protected]
When my Crown trailer ramp is fully lowered my ASW-20 fuselage does not
clear the dolly cradle. Furthermore the scissors jacks require
excessive torque from the fully lowered position. Currently I roll the
main wheel up a small wooden ramp to raise everything a few inches. I'm
interested in other...

Strop design by
Edward Weaver
Has anyone got experience of using Orange Boat Fenders
in the strop configuration to help with visability
when looking for broken strops.
I would intend to fit this by the weak link having
the additional benefit of lifting the weak links of
the ground and reducing wear and battering.
My possible...

Another Cambridge 302 logger bug by
[email protected]
Sorry if this is already well known, but it had me stumped for a week
or so and I may have lost one flight log. I've looked around and I
believe this is different than noted in this newsgroup previously,
since this occurs with the latest Cambridge 302 firmware (2.6.3).
Apparently there is a bug in...

Pawnee Part Needed by
Roy Bourgeois
Is anybody aware of a source to replace the shoulder harness locking device
(it allows the slack in the harness to be locked) on the Pawnee?
We are uncertain but suspect that the device is used on other aircraft
besides the Pawnee.
TIA

Interesting pattern technique by
[email protected]
While attending an advanced x/c seminar last week I had the pleasure of
riding in the back seat of a Nimbus 3DM, and the PIC used a landing
pattern & technique I had not seen or heard of before, but I sure took
note of.
First think I noticed was that even though he'd been flying gliders
since...

Becker 4404-1 Transponder Behaviour by
Ian
Hi
A question for those who fly with Becker 4401-1 transponders.
Normally the "Reply Indicator" triangle on the display of our transponder
flashes briefly when the unit is interrogated, but otherwise it remains
off.
Today I noticed today that it was displayed continuously. This was
when I was at...

VA Assistance for Glider Ratings by
Brian
Does anyone know of any flight schools that are approved for VA
Assistance for Glider Ratings?
I have a private power student that has some VA money available for
additional ratings. He would like to add a glider Ratings once he
completes his private certificate.
If we can't find a VA approved...

GPS antenna conflicts? by
[email protected]
Does anyone have experience with mounting two "mouse" GPS antennas in
close proximity of each other? Any interference issues? Specifically,
I'm thinking along the lines of two Garmin 35s, or a Garmin 35 and a
remote antenna for a Colibri, both within a few inches of each other
under an instrument...

Are All Batteries Created Equal? (Does Size Matter?) by
[email protected]
Anyone have any experience with the 12-volt PowerSonic PSH-12100 10.5
AH sealed lead-acid battery? It's the same "footprint" (length and
width) as the 7.5 AH batteries most of us use but about 2/3 inch (17
mm) taller.
PowerSonic rates its own PSH-1280--the size most of us use--at 8.5 AH
which is...
