In Flight Malfunctions and Emergencies by
Rocky
Seems this area hasn't been touched in awhile and the group is getting
stale. Well, let me stir the pot and see who is still aboard.
My very first feeling of emergency I think, occured when my instructor
said, "YOU HAVE IT", but he was also quick to relieve me of the
anxiety and settled the...

Ultrasport kit helicopter by
vince
I was hoping that I could get some advice on the Ultrasport Kit
helicopter, in particular on REAL build times for the 331 and 496??. I
have been told that the Rotorway is approximately 800-1000 hours, and
that the ultrasport is far quicker at about 300 hours. I am from the
UK, and there are no...

Actually, the preflight maneuver was to spin them clockwise 360 degs.
The reason you did that was to check for coke-ing of the turbine.
Older C20-s had a problem with this, and by spinning the blades

Hughes Helicopters by
Kent Shih
Hello,
I've been lurking for quite some time here. Anyway, I would like to know if
the defunct Hughes Helicopter Company had any association with Howard
Hughes' aerospace division?

Is this chopper about to crash? by
Trentus
It would appear that the majority in aus.aviation seem to think this shot
http://www.thedamnedestthing.com/page15.html was moments from impact, but
then they fly the wrong type of aircraft in that newsgroup, so what would
they know.
If not how is it still in the air at that angle? My "hunch" is...

Extreme Choppers on MSNBC by
Bob Roberts
Ello All :
Just wondering if anyone recorded that documentary (MSNBC
Investigates) called "Extreme Choppers" that was first aired in 2000
and was recently in a rerun and / or if anyone knows where to buy a
copy of that? I've looked on MSNBC and online but can't find it. It's
the one that feature...

Rick Stitt strikes again... Please Read. by
Dennis Chitwood
.....from R.L. Darling
Mr. Chitwood,
I have been following Rick Stitts misadventures for over a year now.
I have a RotorWay Exec and a Helicycle helicopter and have two friends
with Mini-500's that have the Stitt touch on them. One has had the
re-built cones and transmission and the other...

TRUTH OF THE MINI-500 TURBINE CONVERSION by
Dennis Chitwood
I've just read, with great dismay and disbelief, information which
Rick Stitt and his partner, Andreas, wrote with regards to me.
I'd like to ask...what did I ever do to them to deserve such lies
except give him $22,000 of hard earned cash, a year and a half of my
own sweat, and refusing to lower...

Rec License Requirement Question by
[email protected]
Below is a quote from the FAR AIM Section 61.99 which lists the
minimum "Aeronautical" experience required to get a REC Helicopter
license.
Notice that it never really says anything about helicopters.
Paragraph (a)(2) and (b) are the only two that specifically say "in
the aircraft for the rating...

GROUND ALL MINI 500's WITH RICK STITT CONE UPGRADES...OR DIE! by
Dennis Chitwood
Please believe us...or you will die...GUARANTEED. Rick Stitt replaced
the cones on my aircraft. All he did was remove one of the four
bearings and replaced it with an outer spacer, then drilled a hole in
the spacer ONCE IT WAS INSTALLED to allow for oil fill. There is not
even an inner spacer. ...

Student Rotorcraft Renter's Insurance by
Davdirect
Does anyone know of a source of renters insurance for a student R22 pilot? I
was on AOPA's website and they only cover fixed wing. I'm not comfortable with
the amount of insurance my school carries.
Thanks
Dave

max weight to trail in the wind and at what speed do they do a running
