Has anything happened to Stemme? by
Martin Gregorie
While I was bookmarking the Antares I looked at my nearby link to
www.stemme.com and found that it now points to
http://www.scripophily.net/, which sells antique financial instruments.
Question: has anything happened to Stemme or has their URL been hijacked?

Old Cambridge Vario Wiring by
Stewart Hamey
Hi,
At the local club there is a number of older Electronic
Cambridge Varios hanging round.
Some are supposed to be working but they have been
pulled out and the wiring harness lost.
They have a small multipin blue socket on the back,
and a plain face with no switches or knobs.
The model numbers...

Grand Prix 2006 by
Ruud
The Grand Prix concept is obviously growing fast.
The GP2005 has just ended and about 6 months later the GP2006 is held
in NZ with rather hefty price tags for visitors.

Is this a new trent in soaring contests?

Oxygen saturation meters by
Mike I Green
Some time in the past few weeks I ran into an article that had reasons
for soaring pilots to use "Oxygen saturation meters". For the life of
me, I can't find where I saw that article. It mentioned things like not
breathing correctly, poor lungs to begin with, etc. Have looked in the
last Soaring...

Oct 24 is our Dec 17 by
John H. Campbell
Happy birthday, soaring. The "first" soaring flight was the 9 minutes and
45 seconds of hovering over Kitty Hawk dunes by Orville Wright, in the
Wright "No. 5" glider on October 24, 1911. This was no milestone on the way
to powered flight, "started" on December 17, 1903 (by Orville also,...

Well, maybe this once. And rather dramtically, I
might ad. If this had happened in Minnesota, I would
have said 'Ouf dah!'

Battery Source by
Mike the Strike
I am looking for a US source for a rechargeable (preferably gel or
sealed lead-acid) for the fin battery box of a Schempp-Hirth. I need
the extra power as well as the tail weight! Dimensions are
approximately 10 inches long, 4 inches wide and 1-1/2 inches deep.
I've found a few single-cell...

Outlanding stories by
Kelly Teagle
I have one to add.
Earlier this year, I landed in a very big field next
to a council-owned housing estate in South Yorkshire,
UK.
After landing safely, I noticed that the field contained
young pea plants. No problem, I thought. I'll just
be careful as I walk out of the field. They were so
small...

Great guy. Great service. Best web site in the business. Prices not
always the best, but always reasonable when they're not.
I want to plug Tim Mara too, who also posts here now and then. Similar
reasons (Paul has a better web page, Tim gets the nod on selection and
prices imho). Both gentlemen...

I have a Ka6 CR-PE (SN 6310) wreck if anyone is looking for Ka6 bits.

wing is OK, the left wing has the tip broken, but I believe is
repairable. The fuselage is broken in front of the empennage and the nose
cone is...
