Damn, a two seat side by side self launch version of Eric Raymond's solar motorglider. Too interesting of news to merely throw into the 2 seat self launch discussion... http://solar-flight.com/news.html -Paul

Sunset and nigh flying definitions by Ian Strachan
In other threads, people are talking of "sunset" as the latest landing time for flights to IGC Sporting Code rules. I do not think that this is quite right, I believe that the critical time is a bit later. The aviation rules of most countries say something like: "Night. The hours between the end...

Sunship Game by Steve Leonard[_2_]
For those really serious about soaring and art, here is your chance to buy a piece of history. Andrea Derujinsky (Yes, one of Gleb's daughters who makes a brief appearance in the movie) has an ORIGINAL, 16mm film version of the movie, given to Gleb by Bob Drew, the film's producer. If you are...

Sunship game Nimbus by [email protected]
Question from the back of the room. I recently watched ,"Sunship Game" and I was wondering whatever happened to George Moffett's Nimbus,"XX" Pretty advanced for its time. Although adverse yaw must have been awful. Thanks.

Super Cub Tow Release Position Improvement by William Kautter

Super Dimona Motorglider in Soaring magazine feb 2004 by Mark James Boyd
Interesting article. Too bad (for US pilots) it uses the "despised in the US" rotax engine. But this is a real favorite in Europe, I'm told. CFR 61.69(a)(1) requires tow pilots to "Holds at least a private pilot certificate with a category rating for powered aircraft." Perhaps the last 7 words...

Super HP18 Molds Location by [email protected]
Since I see that the Soar Idaho site is only occasionally updated, I thought I might post this here for any interested parties. When I purchased my HP18, I also came into possession of the molds for the Super HP18 modification. I don't particularly want them, and I have no intention of making the...

Super Regionals by JJ Sinclair
Parowan offers not only outstanding soaring with plentiful landing locations (for the most part), but it is also one long days travel from some 10 western states. The waiting list is gigantic............some 80+ last year! How do (did) we deal with all these folks that want to fly Parowan? Last...

Super simple portable flight recorder for beginning lessons? by teck48[_2_]
Hello all. I'm about to take lessons to get back into gliding at Adrian Soaring Club here in Michigan. It's been twenty years since I've flown. Let's hope it's like riding a bicycle.... Thought it might be fun to use an online flight logbook that I could hopefully attach IGC files to to record and...

Super Varios by John Scott
I'm purchasing a glider and have started selecting the instruments. I'm looking the Borgelt B50 and the Cambridge 302. I will be using an iPAQ running flight software in conjunction with this instrument. If I select the Borgelt, I'll also need a separate flight logger. I expect to fly...
