Throttle or Prop control first after takeoff by
cyberflyrg
We are having a argument about what is better to do after takeoff. Some mechanics say pull power back first after takeoff and then adjust prop speed after, my mechanic says prop speed back first and then manifold pressure after that.
What the "right" thing to do that will not damage the prop...

WTB a TRT250 by
d brown
Honest to gosh. I want to buy a TRT250 (the pushbutton transponder).
Working condition not important.
Reason - I want a second so that I can use them as a matched pair
of wheel chocks - really.

Leasebacks? by

Did you ever have a real estate agent tell you that you can make money

Did you believe that?
My real-estate investments have *way* outperformed my stock investments the last
couple of years. :-)

WX1000 Stormscope battery by
D. J. Gooding
I own a Mooney M20J with a WX1000 Stormscope whose backup battery has run out.
The factory wants $600 to replace the battery. (Flat rate repair policy.)
Does anyone know of a practical alternative? I have an electronics background
but have no technical data on the unit. Also, am I directing the...

Beechcraft 'Mouse' Fly-in at Atlantic City by
[email protected]
We are planning a VERY informal gathering of Beechcraft "Mouse" drivers
at Bader Field, Atlantic City NJ, on March 12. All are welcome.
The "Mouse" lineup includes the Musketeer (the origin of the Mouse
handle), Sierra, Sundowner, Sport, Super, and a few more I'm probably
missing.
C'mon up, down...

Alon Aircoupe / Ercoupe advise wanted by
[email protected]
Hi all,
I recently sold my Beech Sundowner because the fixed costs were too
high to justify. Beautiful airplane and I miss her! The plan was to
just rent for awhile, but that's quickly growing old. I've been
toying with the idea of buying a later model Alon Aircoupe for local
fun flying. I can...

Rear passenger legroom in arrow by
Dahlin
I currently fly a 1969 140 and am considering buying an Arrow. Is there
more leg room for rear passengers in the Arrow than the 140? Is there a
difference in the pre 72 and post 72 Arrows with the longer fuselage as far
as legroom. I'm tall and need the seat back which doesn't leave any leg...

Freedom to travel... by
Dan D[_2_]
Isn't it nice to be able to drive anywhere you want to, whenever you want to? Isn't this one of the freedoms we have
come to expect here in the USA? Sure, you need to be responsible, have enough gas in the tank, possess a license, and be
physically able. But you can do it without the government...

TSA and the USA by

It seems the AOPA keeps just saying that we agree that little planes are a security problem, but really, lets figure out
a way to comply with the bogus regulations and rules coming out of DC. This nonsense needs to stop and these rules need
to be removed from the books. The TSA does not have the...

dirty oil by

The oil in my Lyc. O-360 F1A6 is black only two hours after being changed.
What could be causing this? Compressions were in the 70s at annual in

New G-1000 182 & Cirrus SR-22 GTS by

Cessna and Cirrus brought one of each to the Angel Flight fly-in at PNS
yesterday, and I got the sales pitch from each rep. No test flights,
alas.
Both are highly desirable airplanes, of course, but I was surprised at
how closely I rated them as a potential buyer:

Oil coolers by
Dan Luke
Somehow, in 6 years of flying, I missed the fact that not all light piston
airplanes have oil coolers. Why is this so? What factor determines when an
O-320, for instance, must have an oil cooler? ISTR that the oil does a large
percentage of the cooling in aircraft piston engines. How does the...
