Spratt Report Feb. 26 by
Karl Striedieck
The gate is still in the hospital and had another operation this afternoon.
Some "leakage" had occurred which required a stint insertion, and, I'm
guessing, repair of the leak.
John Good talked to him just after he returned to his room this afternoon
and he sounded positive but was in recovery...

Where to live with soaring in mind? by
tienshanman
I would appreciates some suggestions…..I am looking for the ideal place to live in the US – for soaring (I have not told my wife how massively weighted this particular criterion is!). I am overseas now and more than likely we will return to the US this summer. I have spent hours on the net...

Vario beeps, squeeks,and tones by
Uncle Fuzzy
Perhaps one of the big suppliers can tackle this.
In addition to listing the features and specifications, I would
really like to 'hear' a utility that allows you to sample the SOUNDS
it makes under assorted conditions. I have a fairly old Cambridge
electronic vario, and I don't like the audio. ...

Blanik L13 Windscreen Replacement by
Mike125
Our club (USA) is looking to replace the broken foremost windscreen on
our L13 and is seeking alternative sources. A search of RAS turned up
very limited info. Aircraft Windscreens Inc in CA was mentioned but I
couldn't find them on the web. The part from LET is $500+. Also, does
anyone with...

Glider Tail Stall by
jcarlyle
Recent threads highlighted tail stalls in powered aircraft
experiencing icing. The thing that concerned me was the recovery being
exactly opposite to the wing stall that we all practice and
demonstrate, and thus have ingrained as almost automatic. It also
sounded like the thing that distinguished a...

Scheibe Pilots by
Kevin Pater
Hello,
Is anyone familiar with the Scheibe line of gliders? I am going to soon be
the new owner of one of two flying SF-26's in the U.S.
As a result, I am looking for anyone who has any information on this
glider or other Scheibe gliders. I read that the SF-26 uses basically the
L-Spatz...

Legal eagles - what's your take on this airspace issue? by
Tuno
I'm rather surprised my original post on this topic didn't generate
any discussion, so I'm going to try again with what I learned since my
last. (Thank you CH!)
The first two press reports on the incident, where a powered
pagaglider pilot was arrested by Hualapai tribal police even though he
never...

I found their website (www.fluidpowerohio.com)
I am trying to contact them but unfortunately, their contact form is

Has someone an email address I could use for contacting them?

Rob Stone (Stoney) captured the PASCO egg from its winter hibernation
in the SoaringNV hangar today, February 23, 2009, after a wave flight
in his 1-26. Stoney towed out of Air Sailing into good wave and flew
a 300 km course before landing at Minden late in the afternoon to more

I think the Hualapai tribe is trying to elbow out Luke AFB as the top
airspace grabber in Arizona:

HP310 and hx4705 - side by side, first impression by
Tuno
Today I finally got to do a proper side-by-side comparison of an HP310
PNA and hx4705 PDA, each running SeeYou Mobile, under a bright sun and
in the glider cockpit.
In terms of screen performance under the Arizona sun, I could hardly
tell the difference between the two. If the HP310 was easier to...

Howling noise from nose vent by
toad
I have a Grob 102 and it's making a very loud noise when flying fast
with the nose vent closed down. The noise comes from the nose area
and goes away when I open the vent.
I would like to be able to close the vent sometimes, because it gets
cold :-)
Any ideas what might be happening ? It...
