Oxygen Generators by
JohnDeRosa
Has anyone investigated the use of an oxygen generator rather than carrying an O2 cylinder?
According to this study from sea level up to 18,000 it seems to work. http://oai.dtic.mil/oai/oai?verb=getRecord&metadataPrefix=html&identifier=ADA371747

OXYGEN HANGOVER? by
[email protected]
All,
I fly from an airfield that is over 6000 feet elevation, therefore I
use oxygen on most flights. I have found that I get a headache that
lasts for several hours following every flight. I use an EDS system
and have tried several different settings; everything from its maximum
setting which...

Can any SZD-55-1 owner give me thedetails of a modification
to install a Mountain High XCP oxygen system with a
647 liter alloy cylinder (133mm dia x 485mm long) in
an SZD-55-1. Preferably the SZD-approved installation
suitable for a EASA gliderin the UK, but this may not
be possible. Is there a...

Constant Flow Oxygen system
Required : Suitable mask
Location : UK

The rubber bag on my re-breather mask has deteriorated and I wish to replace
this with either a new part or replace it completely with a new PVC mask. I
would be grateful for any information or advice.
Thanks

oxygen mask by

I have an older Cessna oxygen mask with built in microphone in
excellent condition. It seems like it would be great for high altitude
wave flying or just to have with a classic old Cessna. If anyone is
interested, contact me at

Oxygen Mount Question by
YourNameHere
I have a Schempp-Hirth Oxygen mount that appears to use an "M" size
cylinder. 5.25 inches in diameter.
Question:
Steel or Aluminum?
The front bracket that holds the cylinder neck, appears that it might
fit steel cylinders only because of neck length, as it appears that
aluminum cylinders have...

Oxygen refilling hazards by
[email protected]
Another thread mentioned hazards while refilling O2 systems, and I think the subject is serious enough to warrant its own independent thread.
A few years ago, a visiting pilot came into my shop, saying his Oxygen transfill line was leaking. (He carries his own cylinder for refills.) I inspected...

Oxygen regulator by

I have a Bendix A-8A regulator that I took out of our
glider. Is there a shop around that still overhauls
this regulator, or has it become a museum piece?

Oxygen regulators, medical type by
[email protected]
I'm looking for an inexpensive oxygen system for occasional flights up to 18,000 feet MSL. It seems easy to get a used medical type bottle with a regulator that includes a flow restriction built in. You can select, e.g., a 1 lpm flow rate right on the regulator. But, in a glider, you won't be...

Oxygen saturation meters by
Mike I Green
Some time in the past few weeks I ran into an article that had reasons
for soaring pilots to use "Oxygen saturation meters". For the life of
me, I can't find where I saw that article. It mentioned things like not
breathing correctly, poor lungs to begin with, etc. Have looked in the
last Soaring...

Oxygen system in ASW-27 ASG-29 by
[email protected]
Recently acquired an ASG-29 (ASW-27-18)and unable to mount O2 regulator on bottle behind seat back. Not enough room with seat back in aft position. How have other 27/29 owners solved this problem? Flex high pressure line? If so, where was it purchased?
Thanks

I am considering the Aerox DDO2 mechanical diluter demand system. I
only occasionally use supplemental O2, mainly for the a few trips
each season to fly on the east side of the Cascade mountains in
Washington state. I am currently using a Aerox regulator with a
needle valve, and an Oxymiser...

Oxygen Tank for Schleicher ASW 27 or 28 by
Discus 44[_2_]
I am looking for a replacement Qxygen cylinder for my ASW 28. It is the weird one almost the same size as a "D" bottle but smaller in diameter 4.125 inches and 16.5 inches long. Mine is stamped DOT-3AA2015 REE16.6 Which is the cubic ft capacity.
