Metric aircraft countersunk machine screws by
Charles Longley
Does anyone have a source for metric aircraft countersunk machine screws? Similar to MS24693S28. They need to be aircraft hardware store screws have the wrong taper on them. This is for Blanik L-23 & L-33’s.

Overspeed Recovery question by
[email protected]
If you inadvertently fly into the yellow range and kiss the red range, and you get into the high speed vibration, what is the best way to slow before the wings depart the glider. My sense is to reach for the spoilers and slowly extend to slow. Any opinions on that matter?

Butterfly external display questions by
Andy[_1_]
I received a Butterfly external display with my US PowerFLARM core (brick). I also ordered a PowerFLARM Portable so have been able to compare the two.
The alerter volume of my Butterfly external display is much lower than the alerter volume on my portable, even when the Butterfly is a maximum and...

Nearly Mid-Air Collision at Estrella by
Terry Claussen
A lousy end to what was a beautiful day of soaring, thanks to the USMC
and my own lack of vigilance.
Yesterday a cold front was bearing down on Phoenix. While in other
parts of the country this makes for winter worries, here the front is
a small band of cumulus and a very slight chance of virga....

"Joy of Soaring" Book by
Carl B
I have just heard that the SSA is no longer going to supply "The Joy
of Soaring". This is the book that I have recommended to ab initio
students and it has been well accepted. What are other instructors
recommending to their ab initio students? Thanks.

SeeYou Mobile with SN10B data by
kirk.stant
Does anyone have any experience driving SeeYouMobile from an SN10B,
using both the GPS data and the vario/wind/air data that the SN10 can
now transmit to a PDA?
Wondering if it is worth the trouble to have a new SN10 wiring harness
made to work with my PDA.
TIA,
Kirk

Can't Google or whoever is hosting this site do something about
getting rid of that crazy loon's persistant postings? This is a

soaring with Osama by

Here's a quote from Slate Magazine (http://www.slate.com/id/2147499/):
Syria had hundreds of files on al-Qaida, including dossiers on those
who had participated-or wanted to participate-in the 9/11 attacks.
Syrian spies had penetrated al-Qaida cells throughout the Middle East,
and Syrian President...

First Glider - No Gelcoat by
Waduino
Yes I've read lots of posts about buying a first glider. My heart is set on
an LS-4 since I'd like to stay in the roughly $30K US price range with a
decent panel and trailer.
BUT, what if I just don't want gelcoat because sooner or later it will have
to be refinished and that doesn't make any...

Soaring and Critical Mass of Participation. by
plasticguy
In another thread it was noted that Television
drives (apparently) many sports. The sad fact
is that unless there is an extreme element to it,
most of those "sports" have reached critical
mass as far as participation levels are concerned.
The exceptions, indoor motocross freestyle jumping,
street...
