FAA Information on Tow Plane Hitches by
rec.aviation.soaring
Posting this to help people find info on adding tow hooks to airplanes.
I occasionally get direct email inquiries on tow plane hitch installations because of posts I made long ago about installing a tow hitch on a Cessna 180 using the Javelin STC. I have no expertise, I'm just trying to help...

ATR 500 display by
Martin Gregorie[_4_]
I have a Filser ATR 500 that can be hard to read under some lighting
conditions. I'm not using the display backlight.
I'd be grateful if any ATR 500 owner who has tried using the backlight
can tell me if its worth disturbing the wiring harness to turn it on and
if so, is there a further benefit...

And Speaking of George by
Dan Marotta
Yesterday, George Applebay dropped by Sundance Aviation to fly. I provided
the tow to 2,000 ft AGL and Billy Hill rode along in the back seat of the
Grob. George did all the flying (and was up for about an hour) and came
back with a wal-to-wall grin. Said it had been about 5 years since he'd...

Turning radii and spanwise airspeed distribution by
JJ Sinclair
Good observation, Bill. Most long wingers have found it best to keep the nose
pointed towards the outside of the turn. It helps the climb. Your yaw string
should be telling you to, "Put your foot in the inside hole". Just don't do it.
Does that make sense?

LS-6A Questions by
Jerz Rossignol
Hey guys,
I am wondering if any of you know the size of the O-ring for the
ballast connection that comes out of the wing of a LS-6A?
Also, my front air vent keeps opening up just enough to create a very
loud whistle when I get the glider going faster than 100 knots. It
gets quite annoying to keep...
