Multiple IGC files on Google Map or similar by
Tony[_5_]
I have multiple igc files that I would like to display overlaid on a Google Map or similar. I'd like to have the flights shown on map that shows state boundaries, major cities, etc. and not the clutter of terrain elevation or sectional charts which make it difficult to really see where the flight...

WTB: Ventus 15m Winglets by
Ross[_3_]
I have a Ventus C and only have the 17.6m tips, and was wondering if there is anyone out there that has the original 15m winglets that they would be willing to part with.
From what I understand, Ventus A B and C had the same.

Looking for a Duo Discus by
[email protected]
There are currently 2 turbo's listed on W&W, but I'd prefer a pure glider. If anyone knows of one that's up for sale but not listed (preferably in the US or Canada), any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Do L'Hotellier Ball Fittings Wear? by
Casey[_2_]
Just wondering if L'Hotellier fittings wear? I can't seem to find what the tolerance is for the ball diameter. Just curious.
I am aware of the min travel of the locking plate of 2mm.
Thanks

Filters in instrument plumbing by
Surge
I'm re-plumbing and re-wiring a Nimbus 2 cockpit and want to know why there are filters in some of the instrument tubing.
There is a filter on the nose mounted pitot tube as well as on the static tube from the tail boom.
There was no filter/gust filter on the TE tube, nor on the four nose mounted...

Topmeteo by

Have been playing with Topmeteo for the US and so far find it very professional. Does anyone know if there is a way to see thermal updraft velocity predictions in Topmeteo. Have not been able to find anything like Dr. Jack has for this parameter in Topmeteo.

should I buy a new parachute? by
Anders[_2_]
My Strong parachute is now 30 years old, and each time I get it
repacked I point this out to the packer, and ask if the packer has any
reservations about it. So far, none has. My original parachute manual
has no mention of any life limit, although I believe the Strong
company now recommends 15...

Friends:
Can somebody please teach me how to capture an image from See

The up and down sides of rotors relative to ridges by
son_of_flubber
Mulling over a wave flight from last October and realized that I'd gotten it into my head (perhaps erroneously) that the up (lift) side of rotor is usually closer to the upwind ridge than the down side (sink) of the rotor. So for example, if I persist in heading closer towards the slope/ridge...

Canopy Ejection and Canopy Lanyard by
Casey[_2_]
Does anyone un-secure their canopy lanyard prior to take off? Just wondering if the lanyard would break during a canopy ejection or if the lanyard would cause the canopy to whirl about and pop the pilot in the head. Mine and others I've seen have a clip on at least one end.
