Eberle trailer wheel rims by
Bob
Hi
I own an Eberle clamshell trailer. I have no spare wheel, and am
in search of one. I have visited at least four local tire shops where
I live (in Canada) with no luck. I know the trailers are of European
manufacture, and the bolt pattern may be metric. Canada uses the
metric system, but...

US ELT Installation by
mhr
Hi All,
As I understand the racing rules for 2006, the SSA has decided to
mandate ELT installation for all competitors. The ELT must be
permanently mounted inside the glider. Personal ELTs will not suffice.
This is all complicated by the FAA's decision to obsolete some existing
ELT frequencies...

Cobra trailer tail lights replacement? by
John Bojack J4
Looking to replace the factory/European style tail lights.
Although attractive (??) I think they can be confusing for USA drivers following behind it.
Any suggestions for improvement and/or making them more USA "friendly"? And also wiring them for USA vehicles.
I have seen several trailers...

LX 9000 or CNII? by
Tom (2N0)
I have a CNI,CNv, and a LXNAV V7 in my ASG-29. The CNI is easy to operate but it has locked up a few times and has given me a lot of headaches trying to start out of the top of the start cylinder - might be operator error :)
Between the varios I always find myself referencing the V7 because it...

Best vario for airmass awareness across the speed range by
Jim Hogue
Any suggestions? Either currently available or coming in the near future (next year or so) would be ok, I am not in a rush. Prefer it would fit in one 57mm hole.
I take care of navigation and tasks with other standalone devices (full on OpenVario with its own vario/STF sensor board, and a Kobo...

Libelle Camelbak stowage by
Martin Gregorie
A long while back somebody (Ian Molesworth?) mentioned "lashing a
Camelbak under the beam supporting the stick" in a Standard Libelle.
With the season visible on the horizon I'm wondering how he did that.
There's obviously sufficient space available under the beam and little
chance of fouling...

boulder mid-air by
None[_2_]
The rules say that an aircraft towing or re-fueling has the right-of-
way over all other powered aircraft.
Please point out to critics of glider operations that every pilot is
taught this rule before flying solo and that this rule is on the
written test he or she must take before getting a license.

Becker AR3201 by
[email protected]
Does anyone have experience with audio on transmit being heard over
the speaker?
It does not have intercom wired and we believe it is wired according
to available wiring diagram.
Have manual which has no troubleshooting section.
Have tried changing battery also.
Thanks UH

Private airport or small field for landout? by
Charles Ethridge
Hi all.
I'm a former cfi-i/mei and commercial glider pilot, but I've never gone cross-country in my PW-5 glider. Training up for it though. A question:
If you are in an area where the fields are small, but there are several private airfields around, which should be your priority?
Seems to me...

THIS is the cockpit display tech we need by
Bill D
http://rdd.me/ryoliosm I doesn't matter how 'smart' our gadgets are
if you can't read the damn screens with a quick glance. Qualcom's
Mirasol display looks like a magazine cover in direct sunlight.

Time to hang it up? by
John Sinclair[_5_]
It’s been 50 years now since I soloed in gliders at Black Forest, Co in 1971. I have logged over 5000 hours, mostly racing. Only flew one time last year due to Covid-19, but this year I found myself dreading the work involved with hooking up the trailer, driving an hour and a half, assembling,...

Ka6e vs Foka4 by
Janos Bauer
Is there anyone who has experience with both of these sailplanes? They
seems at the same price range but I don't know what would be the
difference during xc flights. What about the maintenance, handling and
any other issues?
Thanks for your advice!
