Fractional piston ownership - what say you? by
Nathan Young
I am a long time subscriber to Flying Mag. I have read Robert Goyer's
articles on shared/fractional piston ownership, and decided to take a
look at the numbers.
His most recent article in the Dec2006 Flying states:
SR22-G2 (1/8th share) = $71,900 (Note that $71,900 * 8 = $575k)
$760 monthly...

another year, another annual by
Doug Vetter
Hi all,
Did 165 hours this year (actually over 10 months) in the 172 and brought
it into annual a couple weeks ago. Decided to overhaul the prop,
governor, alternator and rework a ton of stuff. Wound up going with
Sensenich Propeller Service in Lancaster, PA and am glad I did. The
prop came in...

Roger
I was in the process of entering the AWOS freq and when I pulled the center
knob to select the .72 on my King KX125 the whole center knob and shaft
came out. Has anyone had this problem? What does it involve to fix it?

Skycraft Landing Light Pix, Part II by
Jay Honeck
http://www.alexisparkinn.com/skycraft_landing_lights.htm
I've added pix of the panel switch positions that my mechanic and I
devised. This is always an interesting issue in a Cherokee, given the
limited panel space.
I think the solutions we came up with work well:
1. Remove the pitot heat...

Checking O-360-A4A Vernatherm by
Mike Noel
I decided to check the vernatherm on my Archer's engine because it is
running on the high end of the green during summer flights. I had already
checked the sending unit and guage and found it to be OK. I then removed a
1" hex cap from the top left of the oil filter adapter on the accessory
case. ...

When Weather Diverts You. . . by
Patty
It's part of flying, and there's nothing you can do about it. . .
perhaps.
You're trying to get to your destination, or maybe you're trying to
get home. You look at the weather and no matter how you plot out your
time, direction of flight, and other options, you're staying put!
Blessing or...

seeking residential airpark in NJ by
Dave
As far as I can tell, the only residential airpark in NJ is
Alexandria. But at Sun n' Fun in 2003, I was told that another was
being developed. So far, however, I haven't been able to find
anything on it. Does anyone know of other airparks in NJ?

Fire extinguisher question by
Kees Mies
Hi All,
I had a small engine fire yesterday.
Nothing really serious, just primed too much and whoomp.
Damage, 1 hose costing 22,50 euro, 1 empty extinguisher and a dented
ego.
Now i have the problem about replacing the extinguisher.
The old one contained Halon, but this stuff is prohibited in...
