Flown L/D vs. Required L/D to complete the task. by AK
If your software has it how much are you using this feature? Do you tend to use it more than traditional MC/ballast/bugs settings for final glide calculation? I am suspicious of usefulness of this feature in fast changing conditions. What is your experience? AK

FAA Aircraft Re-registration by Steve Leonard[_2_]
Just tried to renew the registration on my Ka8 on line, and the page for your credit card payment would not load. I was using Chrome, Windows 10 machine. Changed over and tried using MS Edge, and the page loaded. Successful renewal of registration. Anyone else had an issue with this using...

What To Expect For Florida Spring by [email protected]
Just a bit of information about Florida weather, as to date we are about 26 inches ahead of normal rainfall for the year. Now this is a big problem when it comes to soaring during the spring. We really need to dry out quick to have some good spring soaring weather. If it dried out tomorrow and...

What have we learned from all this? by Frank Whiteley

Medical Cannula with EDS by [email protected]
A previous RAS topic asked about adapting cheaper medical cannulas to the Mountain High EDS units. I posted a reply suggesting it was a "penny wise, pound foolish" solution. But, in the interest of investigation, I purchased (too many) cannulas from Amazon, following a link recommended in the...

Vario installation question by [email protected]
When installing two varios that both require a 0.45L bottle, how is this plumbed? There's lots of info online about splitting a tube from the TE probe (moving the T connector back as far as possible) but nothing on if and how two varios can share a bottle. Any help would be appreciated.

Stemme S6-rt by [email protected]
As a power pilot who lives fairly far from a tow and would rather fly than trailer, I'm pretty much sold on getting a MG. I've looked at LSAs and don't like them, nor the restrictions they come with. I have already received lots of info from MG doubters and haters, so i don't need to hear that...

Aniversary by Richard
November 11 2001 was the last time I stepped into a cockpit. It was the last time I was too broke to have a few "goodies". In honor of which I have made a $400 trip to the local model railroad shop. Which has also been about average per month. But I have something I can hold in my hands, not...

TA out landing by soartech[_2_]
This is a more appropriate subject heading. Frank's very frank post on Soaring Cafe says he hiked up 1000 feet to the mountain top after the "arrival" so he must have been in great shape! His coordinates 34.25980, -105.79420, show on Google Earth as looking like a nice smooth ridge top but as you...

SeeYou Mobile 4.3 lost connectivity by 2NO
Since I upgraded SYM to 4.3 on my hx4700 it no longer receives GPS data from my LX7007. I've played with the port settings (comm ports, buad rates) with no success. Has anyone else had this problem? Could be a cable went bad, but I'd like to rule out a software configuration problem ... 2NO

Deadly week by Dave Nadler
Jim McCann was a hell of a great guy and pilot. We spent many happy hours together on the Drive Across America (otherwise known as Return to Kitty Hawk), including a few hours flying together in his Ximango from Las Vegas to Phoenix. Sadly last time we spoke was a few months back, and he was...
