Economy Class by
RRK
How about creating new FAI Class-The Economy Class. New gliders you
can buy for , let's say $40,000 or less. To hell with the other specs.
The only one shall be...40G. It will screw the high end producers, and
should flood the market with hundreds of very good, simple and
affordable gliders.

Badges ? ... We don't need no stinkin' badges by
Doug Snyder
My first BFR is coming up soon. That gives you an idea of how long I've
been flying. At this point, I figure Gold Distance and Duration are
quite doable on a "good" day. Those badges will be challenging, but
within reach. The altitude gain is not impossible, but unlikely where I
fly.
The biggest...

Will US Sport Pilot be insurable? by
Mark James Boyd
The US Sport Pilot initiative seems like it will be
fully approved in less than another year.
I wonder if Sport Pilots will be insurable in the US?
By happy coincidence, Jane and Dennis both seem
to be strong supporters, so I hope they
can help with the final problem (which has also
thwarted...

Guy Byars
I got two, very nice goose neck microphones for sale on ebay. I believe
them to be the standard Filser Dynamic types, but I am not sure.

Installing an ELT antenna. by
[email protected]
Any advice out there re the preferred location for an ELT antenna in a
Ventus 2 ? With a Carbon fiber fuselage its not obvious to me the best
place to install the antenna ( Ameriking supplied - about 20 inches
long ) The factory suggests "under the canopy" , but to me I can't see
how to do that...

The Relief Band for Nausea Relief by
jodom
I've reviewed the relief band in the context of my experience as a
glider pilot. I'd love to hear comments from other pilots about their
experiences.

Glider Wraps, Gelcoat Refinishing by
Herbert kilian
Soaring Cafe has published an article I wrote about the subject:
http://soaringcafe.com/2012/09/whats-your-pleasure-turkey-fajita-or-glider-wrap/
I would be interested what this forum thinks about the points made and
what the potential downsides are of wrapping a glider in plastic.
From my...

Ground launching equipment question by
[email protected]
Last weekend our club did some ground launching from a nearby dry
lake. I had two very successful launches using our "cheap" 1800'
rope. With the cheap rope we don't use a parachute on the cable.
When I tried to launch with the 3000' spectra rope, equipped with a
parachute, the chute at least...

Water, water, everywhere, but none for thirsty wings.... by
Chris OCallaghan
I was surprised that Karl's column in the November issue of soaring
hasn't generated any comment. To start the thread, I'll point out an
important fallacy in Karl's argument.
Karl suggests that water is unnecessary: a complicating factor in a
sport that only gives advantage if one pilot can...

Cambridge 302 Gear/Airbrake Warning - How to Test? by

I am in the midst of a project to install a gear/airbrake warning
system on my glider based on the built-in capability of my Cambridge

warning system (http://www.wingsandwheels.com/pdf/gear%20warning.pdf)

Help needed re Mifflin wind turbines by

A quick way glider pilots can help is to vote...
